brand-logo's Issues

To do next... (a short task list)

  • Create some sort of better preview replacing the table in the README.md. We need a grey background so we can view the white paths and outlines. Clem wants to achieve this preview with a Python script. Another possibility would be to create a preview.svg like this #16.
  • Once we got this preview done, we can convert all the grey paths and strokes to white: sed -i 's/#505050/#ffffff/g' *.svg (Just one command for all the SVG files !)
  • Consider adding information about license and copyright ?

Update the LinuxMint logo on all web sites

ring-name

There should only be one logo. A single identity, for a coherent, clear image. Besides, the old logo is not a good design and is not well done. So, we need to update or get updated the LinuxMint logo on many sites, including:

Move to a better color ? A (much) higher hue ?

You said you want a yellowish green hue, something around 90°. And you said you don't want a color that' s too bright. This leads to this official, current color: #86BE43. IMHO, this doesn't look so good. This 90° hue is half-yellow half-green, so it's one of the brightest colors, and thus it needs to be heavily subdued. But then it just doesn't look so good.

I suggest moving to a much higher hue, somewhere around 160°. This works better. And this is much closer to the cultural definition of a mint color.
