lifescope-app's Issues

User experience browsing imported social media Content

I signed up for a Lifescope account. Added a Twitter connection. (Also created a Facebook, Steam, and Github connections). Waited for it all to import.

So how do I now browse my imported Twitter stream?

First thought: clicked on the teal Twitter connection square, on the Providers page. No go - it just brought up the same 'connect to twitter' dialog.

Next - clicked on the Lifescope logo in the top left. Ok, that took me to the "dashboard" https://app.lifescope.io/ page.

How do I view the Twitter feed? Ok, perhaps it's under Content. Clicked on 'Content'.
This takes me to https://app.lifescope.io/explore?view=feed&facet=content&qid= view (the Feed tab).

Question 1: I wonder why there's no icon on the twitter posts?

Question 2: How do I just see the Twitter messages (as opposed to mixed Twitter + Github + FB etc) content entries? There's no way to filter. (I can sort by Connection, but that doesn't get me the ability to filter on a connection.

Question 3: The Grid and List tabs do not look very useful (when browsing at least). Perhaps they're only for searching? But even then, do people actually use them?

Question 4: The Map tab doesn't seem to be working (at least for Content). Nothing happens when I click on it.

Twitter Contacts icons mixed up.

I created a Twitter connection, waited for it to import. Clicked on Lifescope logo (went to dashboard), clicked Contacts.

The icons on the Contacts list seem to be mixed up (the same icon is re-used for multiple contacts). For example:

(Above, user justin_richer's icon is being also used for NovalisDMT, eminencefont, etc.)

Issue with deleting a provider Connection

Steps to reproduce:

  • Went to delete a Twitter connection (this is the only provider connection I have on the account so far).
  • Clicked on Settings -> Connections. Unfolded the Twitter entry.
  • Clicked Delete.
  • Clicked Yes, Delete on the confirmation popup.

Expected results:

  • For the connection to be deleted, and success message displayed.

Actual results:

  • Nothing happened. (As in, the confirmation popup disappeared, and I was still on the list of Connections, and Twitter was still on there.)

Second try:

  • Ok, went to delete the Twitter connection again.
  • Clicked Delete, clicked 'Yes, Delete' on confirmation popup.
  • Now I got the 'You cannot delete your last connection. Without any connections, you cannot access your account.' message -- for about 10 seconds, and then it switched to the regular 'Yes, Delete' confirmation popup.

Suggestions:

  • Investigate why the first time deleting didn't do anything.
  • Consider allowing the user to delete their last connection. Why would they not be able to access their account? I seemed to have been able to access my account just fine when I first signed up, before I created any connections.
  • If this limitation is necessary: Consider disabling the 'Delete' button in the first place (when it's the last connection).

Logout link in non-standard place

I signed up for a new LifeScope account, went to set up a Twitter connection, it said that another account is already connected to that twitter, and that I should log out.

So far so good (although maybe it makes sense to allow the same connection to be shared with different life scope accounts?).

Went to try and Logout. No immediate 'logout' control on the nav bar. No problem, clicked the hamburger Menu. Could not find the Logout control anywhere in the top 5 links. Took a while to notice that the Logout is on the very bottom right of the hamburger menu.

Suggestion: Move Logout link to the top of the Menu.
