Twitch will show a purple screen for a few seconds, then the stream goes back to being on the original player. After a few minutes the extension turns back on and the same repeats.

Dunno if this is something you want to add, but the suggestion is just being able to force quality to always source or a fixed quality, without twitch changing it to 360p for no reason randomly.

The only reason I'm asking here, where it might not fit, is that you have a couple utilities like it and BTTV has rejected this suggestion before (because they say Twitch already does it, but they don't, at least not with ad block extensions active).

BTW, dev branch works great for adblocks, with seemingly just a small delay added to the startup, so thanks a lot!

The video on reruns are not loading just the sound. Just a black screen with a purple loading icon.
On live when the purple screen pops out mute the stream.
Sometimes i got huge delay too.
I'm using Brave and the main branch since dev_build got merged.

i get a duplicate audio on a stream if i mute the stream the audio continues firefox

The extension works pretty well but it doesn't work on https://www.multitwitch.tv/

As the title says the dashboard when accessing it will refresh like 10-20 times before it will work this might be a mechanism from Twitch to discourage users from using an Adblocking extension on Twitch.

The possible solution is to remove the subdomain dashboard.twitch.tv from the adblocking list within the extension as dashboard shouldn't have any active ads due to moderation and/or editors using it for those purposes.

With the extension enabled, the stream never loads. Only audio comes through

After a short while (<10 min) of watching a stream, I get duplicate audio. I guess that's because the extension switches out the streams. However, it seems that the stream that is switched out is not muted properly.

There's a kind of workaround of just muting the stream in the GUI, which leaves the "background" audio running. One problem with the workaround is that the audio is often ouf of sync with the video stream. What is a bigger problem is that GUI muting will mute the stream completely when the non-mute stream is switched back out again.

This extension used to work great until this week. Now for some reason it only works on some channels and not others.

I'd be happy to contribute to the code if someone can help me track down the issue.

As in title, the purple screen comes up and is not blocked.

Hard to describe unless I'm the only one to have this issue but, seems that if a stream has a spaced (with underscores) name, it only displays the first word of the name resulting is a black video or possibly a wrong channel video if one were to exist as showned in the screenshot.

Attempting to install it on firefox using the instructions provided but keeps saying it failed to install due to it being a corrupt extension. I tried redownloading the file just in case it was corrupted during dl with no changes. I tried extracting the zip file, deleting the chrome json file, changing the name of the json file for firefox to replace the other one inside, adding it all back to zip, and installing. After that failed I tried to just open the zip provided using windows explorer and editing the files inside to save afterward but got the same message both times.

With the new method blocking the purple screen the stream is switching back to source quality and since my internet is not that good i have to manually change it everytime and so the stream cuts off for a few seconds. It's really annoying

cant drag select chat in twitch, not sure why

When TTV aderaser is on, I keep getting the message "Your browser encountered an error while decoding the video. (Error #3000)". Error message appears for any channel I'm not subbed to.

when i enable this addon i can't copy and paste from twitch chat anymore.

Theater mode chops off a bottom portion of the video, which is a problem in itself, but you also can't access the player controls anymore until you refresh the page again. This happens in a small window size but also when maximized too. What I ended up doing for now is popping out the video using Chrome's Picture In Picture function, but this also breaks your mid roll swapping workaround. Might want to take a look at the theater mode video not scaling to properly according to the frame in various sizes and aspect ratios.

Some of my streams are not loading when I'm running this extension on Chrome. Reloading does not fix the issue, some streams get stuck in a constant reload state, and disabling the TTV_AdEraser fixes the issue.

When in fullscreen and the purple screen from twitch appears, nothing happens until it after sometime disappears.
On Firefox - temp plugin.

Twitch uses the font Roobert as its default font, whilst before the rebranding strategy it previously defaulted back to Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif in order.

I've found that the app breaks or overrides the new default font and replaces it with Arial. The font change is a sharp contrast and a little hard on the eyes for those used to the wideness of Roobert and Helvetica Neue's characters.

Occurs on Firefox 84.0.2 on the dev build.

Might be a good idea to disable the player for vods since pause/play doesn't pause/play chat causing it to get out of sync with the video.

I am using the most recent version of this extension, with the hover-peek option enabled.

This function initially worked, but when I tried peeking the same stream for the second time, I see a purple screen.

I was wondering about a Userscript variant for Grease/Tampermonkey as a matter of personal preference primarily for 2 reasons.

Reason #1 It's nice to not have to worry about most likely the Chrome store deciding to pull a plugin down.

Reason #2 Userscript updates can be pushed out a lot more freely than having to be approved especially in again the Chrome store more so than Firefox.

If not hey np np just wanted to ask & get you thinking about that too what'd happen if Chrome decided to come for the plugin & pull it down from the store 🤔

Pressing the Spacebar or K key pauses the stream, even when typing into chat in Chrome.
With the add-on disabled, using those keys in chat is does not pause.

When using the option in FrankerFaceZ to automatically open streams in theater mode, the layout of the page is broken.

Hello after adding the extension and reloading the twitch page where i want ads blocked i get this error. at first the theatre mode button was gone but refreshing the page again brought the theatre mode back.

Every few mins the purple screen flashes and my audio gets lower or higher it kills my ears and makes it unusable for me lmk if you need any other info

Have this extension enabled and a stream keeps getting interrupted with ads

I think it's no longer working

When the ad "block" is triggered (when the stream is swapping) it loads as Source quality and volume muted by default. While the ad blocking technically does work, the viewing experience still needs baby sitting re-selecting the quality and volume again.

Sometimes when I disable the extension, the stream page keeps reloading indefinitely.

I don't know for sure what causes this because it's not always when I disable the extension.
If I hvae more information in the future I'll update the post

PS : When i say "disable the extension" I mean in the extension settings, not in chrome extensions page.

As the title says. The first ad plays and can't be skipped, I tried refreshing and reopening the browser, doesn't stop the first ad when opening a stream. After the first ad plays, then everything works fine on that stream (following ads are blocked).

Notes: The ads are automatically muted, but not the stream. You often see the twitch adblock detected screen flash for a second then is replaced with an ad, only on the first/starting ad for that stream.
