cpp_weekly's Issues

Creating your own exception types

What to do about making copy and move operations noexcept? What about even making construction of it noexcept?

Do you just lie? Do you pre-allocate?

The important parts of C++20

  • C++20: Designated Initializers
  • C++20: Three-Way Comparison <=> (aka Spaceship)
  • C++20: Modules
  • C++20: Concepts / auto" concept / constraints / enabling design by introspection
  • C++20: <format>
  • C++20: <source_location>
  • C++20: Calendar Updates To <chrono>
  • C++20: <ranges>
  • C++20: More constexpr std::vector/std::string / <algorithm> constexpr: consteval/constinit/ less restrictive (dynamic allocation, etc)
  • C++20: lambdas in unevaluated contexts
  • C++20: <span>
  • threading updates
  • coroutines (but they don't have a support library)

Improving coding in daily business ?

I would be nice to get some literature which every C/C++ programmer should read, the main problem is just that in the daily business it is really hard to do research and read some things which are related to programming, it's hard to break the daily routine.

Kind regards
