Git.show() may exit with a status code of 128 for a variety of reasons, including the creation of new notebooks and renamed notebooks. This means the file exists on disk in the repo, but not in a previous commit.

In cases where the file has been renamed, the DiffGenerator should catch subprocess.CalledProcessError exceptions and check if the file has been renamed. There are a few handy git commands to do this, such as:

git log --format='%H' --name-only --follow -- my_notebook.ipynb

The DiffGenerator or a delegate will have to do some plumbing to get the original filename out of there and check it against the commit a user is diffing against.

Otherwise, DiffGenerator should assume the user is diffing a new notebook file.

Currently the code is in alpha development mode. That is to say, I'm working out a few bugs (#3). After that, the next order of business is writing unit tests.

This tool should likely support python3. Hopefully only a few changes necessary to get this working, but this change should probably wait for #2.
