gmail-keep-importer's Issues

Feature Request: Import from Evernote

Hi, thanks for this extension.

I was wondering if we could extend this extension to import from Evernote (Evernote has an export feature).

PS: I've tried to find how to import from Apple Notes, so I would extend to Evernote, but I couldn't find easy instructions or how to do.

Export notes from Outlook to Google Keep

I had 568 notes in Outlook and I evaluated multiple alternatives to replace Outlook and use an application that allows graphics and other functionality. I selected Google Keep but it was very hard to migrate the Notes from Outlook. Using this tool from Lambros and a macro helped with the process of migrating Notes from Outlook to Google Keep.

This is the final solution:

Preparation:

  1. Use the macro suggested here which is used to migrate from Outlook to OneNote: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/transfer-outlook-notes-onenote/

  2. Modify the macro:

Instead of: .Subject = i & " -- " & Left(obj.Subject, 50)
Use: .Subject = "NotesImport " & Left(obj.Subject, 50)

Instead of: .Recipients.Add "[email protected]"
Use: .Recipients.Add "[email protected]"

replace "youremailadress" with your Gmail address

  1. Select one note in Outlook (don't open it, just highlight it)

  2. Run the macro (the green triangle). This will send an EMail with the Note to GMail

  3. In GMail select that EMail and create a rule, i.e. for all EMail from your Outlook address with the word "NotesImport" and the action is to assign a Label, i.e. Notes

Now you are ready for the actual migration process:

  1. In OutLook, select the Notes to be migrated (highlight one and use CTRL key to select multiple Notes). I did it in batches of 50 and by category so I could verify and assign the original category in G Keep.

  2. Run the Macro. (Do not use outlook while the process runs)

  3. Wait a few minutes and all Notes will be sent to GMail and marked with the correct Label

  4. Make sure you are in the Home Page of Google Keep at: https://keep.google.com/#home

  5. Execute the LP G2K extension and, when asked, enter the name of the Label you used in step 5 above.

  6. Your Notes are imported to Google Keep. You can assign categories if needed and delete those EMails from GMail.

cava.

"Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app" error

When I attempt to import, it asks for my Gmail sign in, then says:

"Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app
This app has not been verified yet by Google in order to use Google Sign In."

Is there a workaround available for this?

Add instructions how to install this locally since I unpublished it from the Chrome Store

Due to Google changing policies every few weeks, the extension was broken for 2 years now.

I just unpublished it from the store so people won't be able to install it anymore, but I would like to add instructions here how to install it locally with their own key, if they want.

Steps needed:

  • Get a Gmail API key and put in the source code
  • Build the extension .zip
  • Load the .zip in the local Chrome browser

Don't work with Chrome 53

Hi,

With the last version of the Chrome Browser it don't works.
Please, can you fix it?

Thank you!

Any chance of an update?

This extension no longer works as it has not been updated to comply with Google's security settings.
Is there ever going to be an update for it, or is there a way to bypass the security?
Recently moved from iPhone to Android and need to move my Notes over!

undefined

Hello!
I am using Windows10 and Chrome.
I followed all the instructions and everything went fine: authorized, found emails and when clicking "Start import" it just says "undefined".
What can be the issue?
Thanks in advance!

Enters / item lists

What a great tool, seems to be the only good solution to this issue! I wanted to move from apple notes to google keep, my mailbox is huge (13GB) and i have quite some notes (6k+). I'm very happy with the result but i have some remarks if you want to improve for a next version:

  • a progress bar would be great, searching for the tags took about 30 minutes and it's difficult not to click away. A warning that one click to another window is enough to break it would be great too.
  • when you click import a sign that it has started would be great, i clicked it more then once and then the browser seems to crash, a prevention for that would be great too :-).
  • almost every note seems to be migrated to a list with the first row empty, the iphone keep app shows this as empty, not the worst, just remove the first line in the keep webinterface and it works again
  • all enters/returns seem to been disappeared in the notes, i had to redo them all.

That's all, thanks again, keep up the good work!

"undefined" when importing notes

It's most likely a change in the html of the google keep website, but when I attempt to import a folder, I just get the text "undefined"

undefined

Suggestions for improvements

Hi, I tried your extension with 6000 Gmails and it got to around 700 then hung, then a message "undefined" and stopped. I will get around this by importing a few hundred at a time so no dramas.

But I also noticed it does not import any attachments - there is an error in the console saying not supported. Is there a chance you can support this? I have a lot of photo attachments in my gmail notes.

And when do you think you could support gnotes labels as google keep labels? I noticed it is only your to-do list :-)

No Authorization Pop-Up

I'm logged into my Keep #home but when I hit the LP G2K Extension button no Authorization pop-up appears just the pop-up asking for the Gmail label. The extension then returns "No messages can be imported for label: notes" and nothing is imported. Developer Tools reveals an 401 error, indicating not authorized to get label from Gmail.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

LP Gmail Keeper Importer issue

Hi,
I want to move my gmail notes into Keep. I have followed the instructions to the letter (even through developer mode) and still receive "undefined" during the import process. LPG2K finds all of the notes, but will not import them. Help...I tried to take Snippet shots, but cannot show them here fro some reason (see copy/paste results below).
Thanks!
