webrtc_gstreamer_example's Introduction

This setup can do two things:

1) It can use a docker container to build the Java-based webrtc gstreamer example
and deploy to a connected mobile device (arm-based), or
2) it can build the APK for the Java-based webrtc gstreamer example
and copy the requisite .so files to the appropriate directories in the Visual Studio solution to be launched.

=============================================
To build the Java-based example and deploy it
=============================================

1) Make sure you have a phone connected to your computer and have the NDK with ADB installed.
2) Run the powershell script ./build_and_copy_javaapk_to_connected_phone.ps1.
4) The application "GStreamer WebRTC" should be built and pushed to your connected device.
5) Open a web browser, and type "http://localhost:8080". Verify you are connected to the signalling server.
6) Launch the app on the phone and make sure the "URL" field points to your machine (ws://<IP>:8443). Keep the "ID" field as 1.
7) Tap the start button in the app.
8) After a few moments, two-way audio should be rolling.

================================================
To build the Xamarin-based example and deploy it
================================================

1) Make sure you have a phone connected and Visual Studio installed with Xamarin tools.
    See here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/xamarin/get-started/installation/windows if you need help.
2) Run ./build_and_copy_assets_to_xamarin_project.ps1. This will build the APK that'd normally be copied to the phone, but installed
    but instead it won't copy the APK, but just grab the built assets (.so files, etc) and copy them the appropriate directories
    (webrtc_gstreamer_example\Xamarin\Xamarin.Android\Libraries, for example)
3) Open your web browser to "http://localhost:8080". Verify you are connected to the signalling server.
4) Run the solution in Visual Studio (select the "Xamarin.Android" project as start up project and type F5).
5) The app with the updated assets should be copied and ran on the phone.
