I find that I always use the right hand button to activate the symbol layer and never the left. The left could be used to activate an alternate symbol layer. I need to think of what two symbol layers would look like and get it commited as a trial.

Experiment:

Move ; to the symbol layer, then turn the normal ; key into a one-shot-modifier for shift.

I'm not completely satisfied with the current tap dance Z for CMD.

Issues:

• Z is hard to press
• It does not allow holding to keep CMD on
• It does not give any indications (with LEDs)
• CMD-Z can not be pressed without using a different command key

I'm not sure how I want to handle numbers, but I know that I do not like the top row. Something needs to change with it.

Symbols should be removed from the current number row to discourage their use.

how about a vim layer? activated by left middle finger, and lets the right side have easy ways to do :vs, :sp, <leader>rf(etc)

The OSM for shift is not working so well. Perhaps moving tab and putting shift in its place is worth a try?
