What does it do?

The plugin adds a random text generator, capable of creating witty texts in different genres. Created text can be inserted newly at the caret, or replace a selection. The dummy text generator is added to the main menu, tools menu and into the generate... popup menu (Alt+Insert)

Used from the editor main menu, text is generated in the previously selected genre. Used from the Tools menu or Generate popup, the plugin allows to choose from several genres:

Culinary Inspirations
Esoteric Wisdom
Fake Latin (similar to "Lorem Ipsum" blindtext)
Pirate Lingo
Science Fiction

When replacing a multi-lined selection of text, the generated dummy text maintains the amount of lines. When replacing a selection of text within a single line, the amount of words is roughly being maintained. When the replaced text selection consists fully of lower-cased or capital letters or begins with a capital letter, that previous casing is maintained. Furthermore, the presence or absence of a trailing punctuation mark of a replaced text selection is being maintained.

One line selection replacement has wrong amount of text

When I try to replace a long text, e.g.:
Est raptus detrius, cesaris! Plasmators manducare in caelos! Est raptus detrius, cesaris! Plasmators manducare in caelos! Est raptus detrius, cesaris! Plasmators manducare in caelos!
It is replaced with e.g.:
Ususs accelerare in gratis moscua!

Selcting multiple blank lines and generate leads to an error

related to #6

i tried to generate multiple text lines and not only replacing it or generate only one sentence by selecting multiple empty lines and generate from them, which leads to an error.

instead of the error it would be a good thing to just fill the selected lines with multiple paragraphs of text with a line length of 100 or 80.

Exception in plugin Dummy Text Generator

After starting PHP Storm (2024.1) an error is displayed.

NFR: Standard lorem ipsum

Hi! I've just installed the plugin, works great, but I really miss one simple thing:
An item called "Generate standard lorem ipsum" with the standard text:

"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum."

Fake latin is great but difficult to use if you want to generate longer text into an empty area.
Could you please add this feature? I've zero knowledge in java programming :(

I've spent an hour trying to use this plugin, but I can't figure out how to use it. The only instructions are

I'm not seeing anything for generating dummy text in the Tools menu. Can you please add some screenshots or create a Wiki page on this repo?

Support multiple selections

Error when multiple lines selected

There is an error on Webstorm 2021.1.1. when trying to replace written text with dummy fake latin text from the plugin:

Can't add dummy text to scratch files

I think it's all in the title: I simply have no options to add dummy text in scratch files.

Length of newly inserted text.

When I insert a dummy text at the cursor (no selection) it only return one sentence which in my opinion is too short for the goal of inserting a dummy text.

I would like to see an setting for the length or maybe have an selection of empty lines be filled with dummy text. (Now the selected empty lines stay blank)
