App crashes when calling MidiManager.StartScanBluetoothMidi on iPad

I purchased the MIDI Plugin for Mobile and Desktop from the Unity Asset Store and have been using it.

It works fine on my iPhone, but when I run it on my iPad, the app crashes when calling MidiManager.StarScanBluetoothMidiDevices.

The log output is as follows:

*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSGenericException', reason: 'UIPopoverPresentationController (<UIPopoverPresentationController: 0x1053cbee0>) should have a non-nil sourceView or barButtonItem set before the presentation occurs.'
terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException

I did some research and it seems that using Popover on the iPad requires special handling.
