I was assigned a task to create a user with non interactive shell. I tried but it shows permission denied error in terminal. I followed below steps.

After login
sudo adduser mariyam -s /sbin/nologin
cd /home/mariyam
permission denied error. Please let me know if I have missed anything.

Hi! I am new to kodekloud engineer.

On my first task to complete I need to disable root from being able to ssh between servers. Ansible is available to use, but I was not able to sudo to root even though thor has wheel privileges.
Also, I was not able to ssh from the jump_host as thor to Nautilus Mail Server and Nautilus App 1.

Am I supposed to use my kodekloud engineer login password for this?

I'm working on the NFS troubleshooting task. The console on the jumphost wouldn't respond to any commands. I'm unable to ssh into any of the app servers or the storage server. I couldn't even list the processes to kill them. Please check. Thanks.

I've got a task with this description:
[Some users of the monitoring app have reported issues with xFusionCorp Industries mail server. They have a mail server in Stork DC where they are using postfix mail transfer agent. Postfix service seems to fail. Try to identify the root cause and fix it.]

The task says [ They have a mail server in the Stork DC ]. In the documentation I can see [ stratus DC, apollo DC, Jade Lake DC, Phoenix DC ], is there another docs I've to take a look?

Even there are a server which look like a mail server in the [Stratos DC], called [stmai01], this one is not listed in the documentation mentioned bellow.

Please, could you help me to clarify what am I doing wrong?

On the first Git task, the password for the Storage Server is not working when trying to SSH into it

The environment is not loading when I try to start working on a task.
This started earlier today, was working yesterday.

Already tried logging out, restarting browser and rebooting the machine.

One of my tasks was reported as incomplete. I submitted it for review, but the recording was incomplete probably because of some terminal issues. How do you report this and also is it possible to request the same task to be assigned since it can't be reviewed ?

Is this repository open to accepting PR for task solutions for the Kodekloud engineer role?

The reason behind asking:

1. One can find solutions through internet searches and spending some time so why not this repo itself?
2. Keeping this repo active throughout the time making it more engaging and popular as days go by!

Hi, I've been trying 3 tasks so far, all three of them requires root password, which there is no reference to find this password in wiki.

I would like to propose that each task could be skipped / postponed, or that categories of tasks could be opted in/out. Reason being that if you are focussing on one type of technology say kubernetes, but you don’t know ansible, then you don’t want to do ansible tasks now; you will do them later when you have taken the Ansible course.

Two ways this could be presented to us:

• Each task has, in addition to the current Go button, a Skip or Postpone button. At the top, you would have an additional circle for number of postponed tasks. They would come back eventually as done currently.
• Even better way: in your settings you could have ability to toggle which categories of tasks you want. Some categories could be kubernetes, ansible, puppet, git, networking, docker, etc. Eg for me right now, I would disable ansible and puppet because I don’t know them and I want to get through my kubernetes training. Eventually once I have completed the ansible course, I would enable Ansible (but I might leave kubernetes category on, or not, depending on my focus).

A new user has joined our organization. Create a new user account for the user in the given server.

While connecting to through ssh

asking password
if we enter password showing password error

when trying to perform the task of change and update the Message of the day.
the credentials wont work for the servers
