Project Overview

This project is an example form for testing the capabilities of PHP.

Installation

PHP is a scripting language that runs on a server. In order to run PHP on Apple Silicon (M1 or higher) a program will need to be installed. Install XAMPP for Mac OS. Please note that this will require installation of third party software which requires the user to allow permissions in the privacy settings on their machine.

  1. Feature 1: Project set up to run with XAMPP, runs in the browser and locally if correctly configured.
  2. Feature 2: Navigate to the "phpmyadmin" console via local host to utilize the GUI interface, manage database directly. Write SQL quries directly on the dashboard, import or export files and more.

Notes

  • in XAMPP start Apache and MySQL server.
  • navigate to: http://localhost/phpmyadmin in your browser, you should see a visual interface for the database, documentation, as well as configuration data displayed.

Troubleshooting

  • Be sure that both servers, Apache and MySQL are started and running.
  • check the localhost connection and server ports.
