An issue about creating a new file about khcoder HOT 6 CLOSED

Hi,

As the screenshot shows, KH Coder is not able to recognize no-English characters in the file name or folder name.

1. Please "Unzip" the KH Coder into default "C:\khcoder3" folder or "D:\khcoder3" folder. Do NOT include Chinese characters (no-English characters ) in the folder name.

2. Save the data file as "data1.xlsx" in the "khcoder3" folder. Do NOT include Chinese characters (no-English characters ) in the file name or folder name.

Then, try again and let us know if it works.

Can I see the console window when that error occurs?

You can find console window in the task bar near the icon of KH Coder. A console screen is a screen with white characters on a black background.

Also, if you are running any anti-virus or security software, please temporarily diable it and try again.

On my PC, there is no problem...

Hmm, maybe, KH Coder is prohibited to access files on your PC. To make sure, would you try these things?

[1] Did you tried tutorial? With the tutorial files like "kokoro.xls" or "Anne.xls", can you create a new project?

[2] Is "电脑管家" running on your PC? It must be disabled to use KH Coder.

[3] Can you open CSV files?

1. Open the data file with excel
2. Save the file as *.csv file from excel
3. start KH Coder and open the CSV file from KH Coder

[4] If you are using security software:

1. delete khcoder3 folder and downloaded .exe file of KH Coder
2. disable security software
3. download again
4. unzip again
5. try again

Sometimes, you need to disable security software BEFORE downloading KH Coder.
