ellihandler's Introduction

elli-http-handler

simple http handling with elli and elixir

Quick start

defmodule Handler do
  use Elli.Handler

  get "/" do
    http_ok "Hello world"
  end

end

{ :ok, pid } = :elli.start_link [callback: Handler, port: 3000]

Point your browser to http://localhost:3000/

Usage

use get, post, put or delete to match http requests methods

post "/hello" do
  http_ok "Hello post"
end

or use match to match all methods

match method, "/rest" do
 if method == :DELETE do
   http_permission_denied
 else
   http_ok
 end
end

parameters are available as variables

get "/hello/:name" do
 http_ok("Hello #{name}!")
end

query string parameters can be bound to variables too

get "/goodbye" with_params name do
 http_ok("Goodbye #{name}!")
end

use halt! to return immediately

get "/halt" do
  halt! http_bad_request
  http_ok("Didn't happen")
end

listen to elli events in your middleware

event :elli_startup do
  IO.puts "Elli started"
end

return elli_ignore in middleware to give other modules the opportunity to respond

get "/" do
  IO.inspect data
  elli_ignore
end
