docs's Issues

Please provide more explanations about the CoordinateMappingChanged event.

There is not enough explanation in this page:
https://github.com/Kinect/Docs/blob/master/Kinect4Windows2.0/k4w2/Reference/Kinect_for_Windows_v2/Kinect/CoordinateMapper_Class/Events/CoordinateMappingChanged.md

  • When does coordinate mapping change?
  • How does it change? The corresponding CoordinateMappingChangedEventArgs is pretty much empty (or at least it doesn't have any public member)
  • Why would coordinate mapping change at all?
  • Can the event actually fire in release 2.0.1410.19000 of the Kinect for Windows SDK 2.0?

Known Issues Source Duplicated

There are two source files for "2.0 SDK and Developer Known Issues". The files are in \Kinect4Windows2.0\k4w2 and are named "2.0_SDK_and_Developer.md" and "2.0_SDK_and_Developer_Known.md".

Please delete the one that is not in use.

Documentation about Kinect v2 internals?

Hey everyone,

first of all, thanks for your work! I'm one of the maintainers of the libfreenect2 open-source library for the Kinect v2, and I was wondering: since Microsoft policy seems to be shifting towards a more open stance, would it be possible to release protocol documentation etc. for the Kinect v2 at some point? Would help us a lot to clear up some leftover issues :-)

Best, Florian

change page title/filename of Creating a WPF app

Will need to change the title and page file name to reflect more of a general development for desktop applications.

I have a version of the page in the dev branch and where the title is "Adding Kinect for Windows v2 to a Desktop or Console Application"

Function 'GetDefaultKinectSensor' always gives a LNK2019 error when linking.

For context, I am currently using Visual Studio 2019 for the project and am using the Kinect For Windows SDK 2.0. I have set the path for the Kinect20.lib file in the Linker section of the Properties sheet, as well as also included the Kinect.h header file. When linking, it has always given me the error LNK2019 unresolved external symbol _GetDefaultKinectSensor@4 referenced in function "public: static long __cdecl BodyTracker::initialiseSensor(void)" (?initialiseSensor@BodyTracker@@SAJXZ) BodyTracker C:\Users\luvai_kcrxbon\C++\BodyTracker\BodyTracker.obj 1 . I am quite to new to VS, as well as programming for the Kinect. So any help, or even a pointer in the right direction would be much appreciated.
