Re-encode audio as mp3 breaks audio files, setting is reset with every launch about asbplayer HOT 10 OPEN

I'm using ctrl+shift+x -> Open in Anki. The audio in the asbplayer window is fine, but when it gets transferred to Anki it's silent. Checked my media collection folder and the mp3 in there is silent too.

Yeah, seeing as nobody else has put in an issue about this, it's gotta be something specific to my setup. Just tried turning off all of my extensions and still same problem, so not that either. Only other thing I can think of (I know nothing about this kind of stuff, I just download the tools) is that a bit ago I had to mess around a lot with ffmpeg to get some other stuff to work, not sure if that's related to this.

Anyways, the option stays off now so it's not a problem at all for me anymore, and doesn't seem like it's a problem for anyone else either, so no worries. Thanks for the quick fix and for asbplayer.

A fix for the boolean flag settings not saving has been deployed. I am not able to reproduce the silent audio file problem but I am still investigating. Which keyboard shortcut are you using to mine? And where are you observing the silent audio file? In the Anki dialog? And/or in Anki itself?

Developer console is accessed from Chrome menu -> Other tools -> Developer console
In the panel that appears: Select "Console"
If you could just paste all the text you see there after clicking "Open in Anki" that would be great.

And extension error logs are accessed from top-right puzzle piece -> Extension manager -> "Errors" button next to asbplayer (the button won't show up if there are no errors). A screenshot of any errors you see here would be helpful.

I still don't know why mp3-encoded audio comes up blank. My best guess from looking at your logs is that maybe another extension (e.g. ad blocker) could be causing issues.
