Add issues

As the maintainer of a Collaborate repo, keeping Issues up-to-date will help the student community understand what they can do to contribute. Issues should vary by the easy (update documentation) to the difficult (add a new feature). The more involved you are, the more opportunities there are to collaborate.

Recommendations:

Add issues of varying difficulty to the repo often. you must add the tag GSSoC'24, Level 1, Level2, Level 3 good first issue etc.
How we cacluclate the Scores on Leaderboard: Every PR one point
Level 1: 10 points
Level 2: 25 points
Level 3: 45 points
Try to add some documentation issues as well it would be easy for beginner contributor to explore opensource through your repo.
Generate issues even if you plan on solving them, so the repository appears as active.
Contribute/commit often to the repo so it does not go stale.

Improve Image Organization and File Naming Convention

Currently, the images in the project are stored in the root directory with generic names like "foodie.PNG", "home.jpg", and "service.png". This can lead to confusion and make it difficult to manage the images, especially as the project grows.

Proposed Changes:

Create a dedicated folder for images to improve organization.
Implement a clear and consistent file naming convention for images.
Move existing images into the new folder and rename them accordingly.

Benefits:

Enhanced organization makes it easier to locate and manage images.
Clear naming convention improves readability and understanding of image content.
Facilitates scalability and maintenance of the project.

Girlscript Summer of Code Introduction/Tracking

👋 Hi @khushi-joshi-05,

I am Prince, web developer Girlscript Summer of Code. I'll be collaborating with you on preparing your repo for GSSoC'24 Program

Why are these changes required?
After Analysing last year's contributions and feedback it would be great for students to have a couple of standard readme files on the repo to understand what the project is all about and some issues detailing what they can contribute. This will help you to see increased engagement in your repository as well.

As mentioned students get a chance to learn step by step, how to build this project as well as invite mentors to collaborate and add features to this repo. I will generate issues, which will provide guidance on how to prepare your repo for Girlscript summer of code 2024 on 10th May.

This issue will serve as a tracking issue to track all issues related to GSSoC'24. I recommend creating a new branch for every issue and opening a pull request to track changes so we can effectively collaborate with each other and merge changes when you and I feel like those changes are ready to be merged on your primary branch.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to leave a comment on this issue or any of the other issues that are generated.

I look forward to working with you :octocat:

Responsiveness of website

The website is not perfectly responsive for mobile and tablets. I will make it responsive. Please assign me this issue. I am contributing under GSSOC'24

Enhancing Documentation Processes

I will add three new templates to the repository, aiming to improve the GitHub issue creation process, feature requests, and documentation contributions. These templates introduce a standardized format for creating issues, requesting features, and documenting project details. By implementing these templates, contributors and maintainers will be able to collaborate more effectively.

File Structure Optimization in Codebase

The current file structure in our open-source organization's codebase lacks organization, hindering code readability and maintenance. To enhance efficiency, we propose structuring files into distinct folders: one for HTML files, one for CSS files (excluding index.css), one for JavaScript files (excluding index.js), and a folder for images. This approach streamlines navigation and upkeep, fostering better code management. Please assign this issue to me, i want to work on this issue, and resolve this as soon as possible.

Learn.md

Learn repos should have a LEARN.md file to teach student how to build your project step by step. You can explain how to build your project with text, code snippets, images, or even short (5 minute) long video lessons. As the maintainer of a Learn repo, the LEARN.md file requires you to think critically about how to explain the building of your project and how to also make it engaging. We don't expect you to be an expert teacher, but we would like you to reflect on how difficult it was to get to your level of knowledge, and then provide friendly guidance to help other students to learn.

Creative Footers and Contact Section and Good UI for Bottom Section

Description: The social media icons in the Footer section of the webpage are currently not linked to their respective social media handles and are also more creative and have good UI for the footer and contact section.

Steps to Tackle:

  • Navigation to the respective pages.
  • Locating the social media icons (Given, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
  • Onclick Behavior: Clicking on a social media icon should redirect users to the respective social media handle.
  • More Creative and impactful UI for the webpage

Actual Behavior:
Clicking on any social media icon does not redirect users to the handles and minimal usage of CSS.

Can you please assign me this issue, I would love to work on the bottom section of the page.
Labels: bug, enhancement.

Add templates for issues

Issue templates are very helpful for a collaboration repo. When users identify a bug or want to add a new feature, you can provide templates so you can collect all the pertinent information you need to fix a bug or add a new feature.

We recommend creating a “Report Bug” and “Feature Request” issue template.
you can refer this: https://docs.github.com/en/communities/using-templates-to-encourage-useful-issues-and-pull-requests/configuring-issue-templates-for-your-repository

Some suggested prompts/questions you can add to a “Report Bug” template are:

Briefly describe the bug
What is the expected behavior?
Please provide step by step instructions on how to reproduce the bug
Some suggested prompts/questions you can add to a “Feature Request” issue template are:

Briefly describe your feature request
What problem is this feature trying to solve?
How do we know when the feature is complete?

Improve File Organization for Enhanced Readability and Maintenance

Currently, the project's files are organized in a flat structure, leading to difficulties in locating specific components, utilities, and assets. This lack of hierarchy makes it challenging for new contributors to navigate the codebase efficiently.

I will make it more structured and readable so that all the contributors can easily access the files and make contributions.

Improving Contact us in the footer

@khushi-joshi-05 In the existing System the website need the user to provide the emai Id and message which can be improved by just adding a email icon and once the user clicks on it it will redirect to their original mail account to thus making it more efficient.
Kindly accept my contribution.
Thank you 😊!

Navbar Directory Not Found

Expected Behavior:
The directory should lead to the corresponding page without any errors.

Actual Behavior:
Users are encountering a "Directory Not Found" error message when clicking on the directory in the navbar as shown in the image.

Proposed Solution:
Investigate the backend to ensure that the correct directory paths are linked to the navbar items. Test and verify that clicking on each directory correctly navigates to the intended page without any errors.
