firebase-push-notification-demo's Issues

Unable to register default service worker

I am getting this error.

Notification permission granted.
; FirebaseError: Messaging: We are unable to register the default service worker. Failed to register a ServiceWorker: A bad HTTP response code (404) was received when fetching the script. (messaging/failed-serviceworker-registration).

Missing /body

Hi,
very small issue to update:

in file: firebase-push-notification-demo/index.html
you are missing tag. it's instead.

Can I put a notification bell icon on website

Can I put a notification bell icon in the website so that on clicking it user can subscribe to website? How to do it?

Also I think we need to collect tokens to somewhere right? Do I need to use database for this?

manifest.json

Hi and thanks for the tutorial!

For me it only showed the sent notifications after adding this manifest.json file to the project root (See here):

{
  "//_comment1": "Some browsers will use this to enable push notifications.",
  "//_comment2": "It is the same for all projects, this is not your project's sender ID",
  "gcm_sender_id": "103953800507"
}

Thanks
Best

Foreground messages will not show notifications

Hi, so this source works for back grounded browser tabs or even closed browser tabs. But sending that same json body never fires off the handler in index.html:

messaging.onMessage((payload) => { console.log('Message received. ', payload); });

Any ideas?

Create Installation Request Failed

Does any know how to solve this issue?
Unable to get permission to notify. FirebaseError: Installations: Create Installation request failed with error "403 PERMISSION_DENIED: Requests to this API firebaseinstallations.googleapis.com method google.firebase.installations.v1.FirebaseInstallationsService.CreateInstallation are blocked." (installations/request-failed).
