collectorsanxiety's Issues

Copy Button (maybe Wikis)

The ability to copy the Emote/Mount etc. name would be nice to have.

This makes it easier to look up sources, e.g. the wiki's.
Wiki's might be a nice addition too, as a one-click to more information solution. At least if you don't already have a better solution in mind to get unlock information. I saw there's an issue open regarding this.

I'm just spouting ideas tho- what do you think about that? Since ofc I can just type the emotes into the wiki lmao

Thanks for the addon anyway! I'm excited to see how it evolves.

Add CSV Export Button to Maintenance

Data analysts and similar may be interested in getting reports from Collector's Anxiety. An option to export a CSV of all items registered with Collector's Anxiety (and relevant information) may be helpful, especially for combining with other data sources.

List Item Sources (where available)

It would be nice if Collector's Anxiety listed how to obtain uncollected items, or at least guide players on to an appropriate path for getting them.

Additionally, it would be nice to mark items that are only obtainable from the Mog Station, or are completely unavailable.

Add an Option to Auto-Hide Unobtainable or Mog Station Items

A fair few collectables in-game are either only available from Mog Station or are completely unavailable at the moment. It would be nice to add a checkbox to automatically hide these items and not include them in normal metrics or reports.

UI Quirks Megathread

Some various quirks of the current plugin UI that should be looked at at some point.

  • White-on-Yellow coloring for the progress bar completely spits on WCAG guidelines for contrast.
  • Empty checkbox indicator may be confusing to some users as it's a non-interactable element.
    • Replace this with X and checkmark icons instead maybe?
  • Right-click on checkbox is extremely hidden, causing users to miss useful functionality.
  • Right-click on checkbox should be expanded to cover the entire row if possible.
  • Font scaling can cause column headers to become clipped.
  • No ability to filter by badges (is marketboardable) is a bit frustrating to find things (#6)
  • Tab-based UI is bad and the developer should feel bad for thinking it was a good idea.
    • Unfortunately, said developer can't really think of a better paradigm either. Maybe iPad-style sidebar instead? Worth looking into.
  • Plugin window can't be moved to external monitors; it just blanks out.

Barding

Chocobo barding does not seem to track correctly, It shows I have 46/91, but when I equip a set CA thinks is missing, it updates to 44/91 but the barding still stays on the list. If i put on another piece it goes to 43/91

And just equpping or unequpping gear on the chocobo seems to confuse it, its now saying i have 35/91

Ive checked it both in housing area and in overworld.

For the record, on lala achievements i show i have 77 of 78

Not sure why CA shows more items then Lalaachievments.

Hey guys, pointcrow here

do you ever get collector's anxiety in huge open world RPGs? Where there's so much to do, so much to grab, where you're just wondering if that one item that you pick up, is the only item kind? well look no further, the least qualified person for the job is here to tell you all of the items you should hold onto in Breath Of The Wild, because you wont be able to get them again once you use them up.

And if you like this video and it helps you, give it a like or share this video with your friends, cause you never know who else it might help out. That, and give the subscribe button a look, if you want to be notified if another one of these kinds of videos comes out.

Alright let's get right into it and I'll attempt to make it short and sweet.

Every item lying around in the open world will respawn no matter what when a blood moon rises. It's basically a complete world reset. However, items and treasure chests, can only be obtained once. It's also the same with quest rewards, once you completed that task you can't complete it again.

Starting off, we have the forest dweller's sword, it's found in a chest near Mido Swamp, a chest near the Hyrule Garrison Ruins, and a chest under the bridge near Lake Floria, it's also given as a quest reward for completing the test of wood in the Korok Forest. It's important to note however, that while the test of wood gives you the forest dweller's sword the first time, for each subsequent visit after that, you have to return it after the trial's done.

The kite shield is to the Rito warriors as the forest dweller's sword is to the koroks. The shield can only be obtained in a chest after beating bokoblins, in the North Tabantha Snowfield, and another chest found near Hebra Plunge, It's also found if you get the worst time in selmie's shield surfing. If you're anything close to a pro gamer like me, this objective should be no problem to get, easy.

Speaking of pro gamer skills I stream at twitch.tv/pointcrow, if you don't watch the stream, look at all the spicy content you're missing: [cuts to video of him watching an old commercial with a rap about the Legend Of Zelda] "It's the Legend Of Zelda and it's really rad, those creatures from Gannon are pretty bad, octoroks and tek-teks, leapers too, but with your help our hero pulls through"

Moving on, there are four more items on this list that are special mentions, I'll call these "miss-able" items, since they're moderately obtainable until you complete a certain threshold in the game, all depending on how you play. These include the regular lynel spear, the regular lynel crusher, the mighty lynel spear, and the mighty lynel crusher.

As some of you may know, the enemies in breath of the wild get harder and level up the more you play. Red bokoblins become blue, blue lizalfos become black, et cetera. Same thing happens with lynels, exept you can't pick up lynel weapons in the open world, hence why they can't respawn, you can only get a lynel weapon from killing a lynel. Once these lynels are fully upgraded, as in a white lynel or a gold lynel, you lose the ability to get these weapons forever. Enemy scaling is a completely different video, I wont get into how it happens and the threshold needed to reach for each enemy to level up, but for the sake of this video, the more you kill, the more likely you level up mobs, and the less likely you'll be able to get these four weapons.

It should be noted that while the lynel weapons are missable, there is a workaround. There will always be a red lynel on top of a mountain in the Zora's Domain, and a blue lynel in the first gatehouse of Hyrule Castle. When killed these do not drop their weapons, and they're purely here for the Hyrule compendium. However with a small exploit they actually will drop their weapons. It works simply: start the fight, engage it, and then almost immediately afterwards save and reload. this resets the lynels position, and you should get your parts.

That's it, that's everything you need to know about the items you need to keep before they go extinct. If you liked this video give a like subscribe, and hey, I'm not the judge of your life, but uhh if you want to check out my other videos, uh I wouldn't mind. Hope you have a wonderful day guys.

[EAQ] Features That Will (Probably) Never Be Added

If you've browsed the XIVDeck issue page, this'll be familiar. In short, the below is a list of features I currently have no plans of supporting for whatever reason.

  • Support for Triple Triad Cards, Blue Magic, and Fish
All of these currently have, erm, acceptable in-game UIs. They're not the greatest, but they do provide a pretty good overview of what players have, don't have, and where they can go to get them. Collector's Anxiety is (for now!) focusing on things that have no UI at all.
  • Support for Relics
I'll be honest, I just really don't want to deal with inventory code and everything that entails.
  • Armoire Stats in the Overview Tab
The Armoire is not automatically loaded by the game client until a player actually visits it. As such, it is impossible to guarantee accurate data - either we show invalid counts or we change counts when the data is loaded. Secondarily, a lot of items in the Armoire are... frustrating (read: unobtainable), and as such I don't feel it's appropriate to include them in overall metrics
  • Item Search
Search is a great idea and I see why people want it, but I'm a bit hesitant to implement it because it'll add a lot of complication to certain systems. Sorting should implement most of the concerns that Item Search would resolve.

More things may be added later, depending on what I discover while writing this plugin. Things might also be removed, depending on what it is and how things develop.

Add ability to export to FFXIV Collect

I use the FFXIV Collect website a lot to figure out how to actually obtain things that I'm missing in the game, with the issue with it being a lot of manual data entry. I've recently found your addon and have the opposite issue: it automatically figures out what I have and haven't collected, but there doesn't seem to be a way to actually figure out how to collect the items without looking each up manually myself.

If at all possible, it'd be nice to see if there was a way to team up with the people behind the website and allow for exporting from the game and importing to their site, for overall smoothness and ease of use

Implement Sorting on Tables

Users often have a need to sort the view table. The plugin should offer some way to allow users to sort by arbitrary columns.

Special consideration will need to be given for the Icon column, as that will be used to sort by in-game sort order (e.g. as present in the Mount Journal), and how to expose that nugget of information to users effectively.

It would also be great if users could sort by attribute (the icons visible by certain entries) so that they can easily find items that can be found on the marketboard or hairstyles wearable by Viera.
