Liquefaction-XGBoost-SHAP-Jas-Dodagoudar

This repository is associated with interpretable liquefaction potential assessment model. This model is developed by using XGBoost and SHAP. The CPT database was used to developed the model. This CPT database is collected from Boulanger and Idriss (2014, 2016).

This repository contains these files: processed dataset, Model D, SHAP explainer, and a few developed codes.

This repository is part of the below project. If you use this in your work, dont forget to cite as below:

File descriptions

(0) [Processed dataset]: It is available with the article in the supplymentary material at "Appendix C". The file is now available in this repository as file name "KJAS_GRD_SDEE_Supply.pdf". This is the same dataset used for the model training and testing. This same file is attached to the SDEE journal section.

(1) [KperIFinal.m; BI2016PerFromSBTData.mat; BI2016PerFromSBTDataWork.m]: These files are the codes related to the calculation of permeability values of soils using the soil behaviour type index.

(2) [MODEL D_Liq_Jas_Dodagoudar.json; MODEL D_Liq_Jas_Dodagoudar.txt]: These are the XGBoost model files with two different extensions. This file can be loaded in the Python platform to predict the liquefaction potential assessment for site(s) of interest having all IPs in a excel spreadsheet.

(3) [explainer_SHAP_Jas_Dodagoudar.pkl]: This is the SHAP "explainer" file corresponding to Model D. This file can be loaded in the Python platform to predict the liquefaction potential with SHAP values. From this "explainer" and SHAP values, the SHAP plots can be plotted. Alternatively, this "explainer" file can be generated for Model D using SHAP package.

(4) [TestSites.xlsx or TestSites.csv]: This is the spreadsheet templates of the test sites where you want to assess liquefaction potential of soils using the developed model.

(5) [Implement_CPT_MODEL_KJGRD_SDEE_v1.1.ipynb]: This Python script is provided to give a hands-on demonstration of using the developed CPT-based model in the Jupyter Notebook platform.

(6) Interactive online video tutorial: Will be uploaded soon....................

Release notes:

Update 28-03-2024:

The final version of the hands-on demonstration of the developed model is uploaded: Implement_CPT_MODEL_KJGRD_SDEE_v1.1.ipynb. An interactive online video tutorial will be uploaded soon in the next release.
