The area above a note would make for perfect drag handle.

I'm thinking about a long bar that holds the visualisation and notes. It would grow with the downloaded audio.

A symbol for locked state of notes should be shown in the GUI.

XMPP Groupchat should be implemented some time soon.

On command line you can type:
vlc http://mp1.somafm.com:8808 --sout file/ogg:audiostream.ogg
to record a stream, or
vlc audiostream.ogg
to play back the progressively downloaded file.

The StreamPlayer class should support that, too.

Add a "delete" button to each note.

Right now every single character you type is sent. For people who write fast this lets the application lag behind, because of stacking packages to be sent.

A possible solution would be periodical sending (e.g. every 1/5 second) that is enabled as soon as one character is typed. This way all chars that accumulated in that time delta can be sent at once.

The visualisation bar also acts as a seeking bar, but the pretty image isn't necessary at all for seeking in audio. A click somewhere on the bar should move the current play indicator (orange line) and seek in the underlying audio player.

The hardcoded server is okay for now, but for the future it might be desireable to have the option of setting a custom server.
