KubeSim

A simulator of Kubernetes for batch and offline workload.

Kubesim is based on kubemark on kubernetes release-1.18, tag v1.18.6, commit dff82dc0de47299ab66c83c626e08b245ab19037

Quick start

create kubesim namespace

kubectl create ns kubesim

create comfig map node-configmap

kubectl create configmap node-configmap -n kubesim --from-literal=content.type="test-cluster"

create secret kubeconfig

kubectl create secret generic kubeconfig --type=Opaque --namespace=kubesim --from-file=kubelet.kubeconfig={{kubeconfig_file_path}} --from-file=kubeproxy.kubeconfig={{kubeconfig_file_path}}

deploy kubesim

kubectl apply -f ./example/kubesim-cm.yaml
kubectl apply -f ./example/kubesim-rc.yaml

Is there any option about acceleration?

Hi, I have a question about acceleration option on kubesim.

Kubesim is a simulator of Kubernetes for batch and offline workload. So I can create a hollow node, and create a pod on the node.

But I want the re-scale the running time of jobs.(very shortly)

Is there any options about accelerating the workload running time?

Replace vendor with gomod

Update pakcage management to go mod.

Can you provide a docker image in docker hub?

Use more generic interface to mock node resources

Currently, it only passes cpu and memory resources into cadvisor.Interface which is not enough to mock real world cases.

We should extend this to a more generic way to better simulate production nodes
