Devcover is an open source application which allows developers to create a portfolio in less than 2 minutes with just their username.

Inspiration

I decided to do this project for 2 reasons, the first is that as a developer I know that in most cases we spend very little time creating our portfolio or we don't even have it, the second reason is that I like to participate in hackathons so I built this project for Hashnode and Vercel hackathon two companies which I admire.

Deploy your own Portfolio on Vercel

If you want to customize your portfolio colours, name, bio a put your Google Analytics code, I suggest you create your portfolio on Devcover website.

If you prefer to go faster and accept the default parameters you can click on the following button and the only thing you have to do is put your Github or Hashnode username in the NEXT_PUBLIC_USERNAME.

Getting Started

First, run the development server:

npm run dev
# or
yarn dev

Open http://localhost:3000 with your browser to see the result.

Deprecated API method for hashnode fetch

Hi, I ran into the "Sorry, not enough information" issue (I saw one closed) in local dev deployment.
After some debug I found that the entire Hashnode api has changed and they disabled the previous method.
I temporarily disabled the Hashnode fetch, since I don't use it, but I am available to contribute to the migration.
Also I updated the packages and dependencies because it would not deploy otherwise (I see an open issue about it, may I do a PR?)

Hashnode articles no longer displaying

Devcover used to show Hashnode articles that I've written before, but now the portfolio only displays information from my GitHub account.

Not working with the github username

I stumbled upon this project and thought to check it out. I put my GitHub username, but the site says, "Sorry, there is not enough information for the user rishichawda". Thought I should probably report it here.

How do I refresh the repos to be in sync with those pinned on github?

The repos displayed on the portfolio don't reflect the most updated repos in my github after being deployed.

Hi, on entering my github username, the web app is not pulling data from my README.md.

Settings doesn't persist

I tried to update my portfolio settings but it seems the "open to opportunities" toggle button doesn't work
