master-thesis's Issues

Look into the added value of a Citation matrix for Snowballing

Snowballing
In methodologie (version 20.00 20210923) snowball was mentioned very shortly.
doing the complete process creates a large corpus and it officially also includes a citation-matrix.
I did not do this, i think this is very much work but a small matrix adds value..
something to think about and customize for the route taken.

It could be an added value to use this in the thesis. Judge and choose

Change the license to CC BY-SA

Still starting up and no content... license still can be changed. The Non Commercial was too strict. The Non Commercial also prohibits the use of the thesis in literature. So it is changed to CC BY-SA. CC BY-SA supports sharing under the same (less restricted) license to be as open as possible.

Write your personal Why (goal) in ca 300 words max.

Rational: this helps me (EB) to scope the type of advice and direction of advice/feedback. Allignment is key

Example: I would strongly suggest Steven King and Wolcott to read (see slide 20 of AMS thesis hacks deck) .

The two books are easy to read and are one of the best if not the best books on how to write. I struggle to determine if this would benefit your personal goal. Hence... :)

Reference to Metathesiophobe (Introduction)

A Metathesiophobe feels they have no control over their lives due to constant change.

<< Great place to add a footnote with link to wikipedia, or some medical resource. Maybe even promote it to a reference to a medical resource.

Add triangulation to the research methodology

Add the triangulation to the research methodology with the axes Literature, Delphi Group, and Seen in Practice.

Score to use:

3 out of 3 means probability that it is a real EA/AF success factors is high
2 out of 3 means a probable EA/AF success factor is high
1 out of 3 means needs more research

Cover Art

Create cover art and place a cover page on the Thesis.

Open Science

Just as selecting a Licence model, it is important to determine at the start your positioning towards open science.
In de PhD Defence of "2021 Borgers - Are Architecture Principles effective - A study in Dutch governmental organizations"
Borgers stated that complying to the FAIR principles (demanded by university of Maastricht), was very difficult since he addressed it only later in the processes.

Univeristy Antwerp does have an Open Science / Open Access Policy
Antwerp Management School does NOT have an Open Science / Open Access Policy.

The Open Science requirements are closely linked to Replication Criteria.
For research to be replicatable these criteratia are relevant.

FAIR Principles & Zenodo - https://about.zenodo.org/principles/
TOP Guidelines - https://www.cos.io/initiatives/top-guidelines
Open Science Framework - https://www.cos.io/products/osf

to consider 1: at AMS most MSc research is closed since it addressed strategic information of an organisation.
to consider 2: I think that a clear view on Open Science, Open Access and a deliberate choice on replication and transparancy ticks a few boxed for bonus points but is not mandatory.

Introduction: Tip..

Introduction: Tip.. active voice in the I vorm and not in the reseachers.. "In this thesis, I define Enterprise Architecture..." etc

Write Chapter on why Antifragility is important for the public sector

Chapter 3 (extra on top of the theoretical background) is the chapter that puts antifragility in the context of the public sector based on the theoretical background.

Idea is to proof by notes, interviews that the governmental institutes are changing rapidly (digitalisation of the government) together with the knowledge of freedom per governmental agency (sustained in our laws) and verified with qualitative interviews. A lot of different changes that are increasing over time.

Add reference to Nothing in life is permanent (Introduction)

Nothing in life is permanent, nor can it be, because the very nature of existence is change.

<< Please add source (for example that Heraclitus states this or western philosophy or ... some second law of physics or ... and then why it applies to this context) since this is a dogma statement for the rest of this thesis.

Add reference/footnote to Panta Rhei (Introduction)

The Greek philosopher Heraclitus once said that one constant since the beginning of time is change. However, the fear of change is also a constant. His central claim is summed up in the phrase Panta Rhei ("life is flux"), recognising life's essential, underlying essence as change.

<< Bonus points for adding footnote reference to plato.stanford or wikipedia on this "generic" knowledge.
