When a player sets their skin to be left handed, the string still comes from the right hand when using the left and the left hand when using the right.

Lots of mod add various metals and what not. Would it be possible to add support for these metals, without having to go through tinkers construct just for it?

It appears that Yoyos in your off-hand changes your damage for both hands, depending on how you equip the yoyos/weapons in a way. Almost the same as #15 perhaps?

In this gif here... I punch an Iron Golem which deals 1 damage... I then equip a Rainbowyo in my off-hand and then punch the iron Golem again... I instantly KO'd it despite not using the yoyo.

If you have a Diamond sword and then equip a Yoyo of any kind in your Off-Hand... it's damage will overwrite your Main-Hand damage while changing your Main-Hand will overwrite your Yoyos Off-Hand damage. Here's one example...

Say I have a Sword in my Main-Hand that deals 1000 damage, and I equip a yoyo in my off-hand that deals 4 damage... the Main-Hand Sword will deal 4 damage. Even if I un-equip the yoyo in my Off-Hand the sword will only deal 1 damage, as if I were punching the mob. Doing it the other way and the Yoyo will deal 1 damage.

This doesn't occur if the Yoyo is in your Main-Hand and you equip something that isn't a yoyo in your Off-Hand. Another thing to mention is that if you pause the game this 'fixes' the buggy damage values.

I'm wondering if you'd possibly be able to look at silent gems compatibility so that you can make gem yoyos. Possibly using the tool rods from that mod as their tool rod part, then plus 4 materials and then a yoyo cord.

Statistic wise the gems and materials in the mod have mining speed, damage, magic damage, durability and protection values.

so I'm thinking mining speed can be similar to the range of yoyos. Protection can be related to having more active time. then damage is obviously base damage and you could possibly make an ability for the super tiers similar to it's other tools that use the magic damage?

It'd be awesome if you could do this.

on an aside, mods like spartan weapons/shields, dungeon tactics and thermal expansion seem to always allow tools made of alternate materials and base metals etc. if not silent gems compat, would you atleast consider making a larger set of different yoyos that use each type of base and typical metals generally used in tech mods and others? Wouldn't be needed if you do silent compat however, since the metals are already tinkerable and also silent gems compatible.

There are already some fun modifier s like shears or collecting etc and of course the base modifiers art her as well like quarts.

But I think there is a lot of potential in a spinning weapon to have some interesting modifiers.
Here are a few I came up with:

Tangled: applied with a lead and fishingroad makes the yoyo pull the mobs it hit towards the player when it retracts (fun combination with sponge to move animals around)

Explosive: makes the yoyo do a small explosion when it hits something (everyone loves explosion if they don’t break blocks)

Digging: adding a vanilla pickaxe or TiC pickaxe head gives the yoyo block breaking functions as long as it hits a block

Spiky: adding prismarine shards or swords to it can give it a damage boost by adding 4 spikes to the sides

Bouncy: the counterpart to sticky instead of sticking to blocks it will bounce of of blocks makes it fun in narrow places.

Sling throw: adding a bow to it makes the initial throw super fast and pierce trough mobs or maybe chargeable to give it an initial damage boos on the first hit.

That’s it for now I found these ideas fun maybe they are doable and you find them funny as well Tangled is my favorite among them.

Strange Crash with Yoyos I think related to cord rendering.

I think its related to the cord at least it shows this in the crash log

Something bork'd, as whenever I attempt to use a Yoyo in my Main-hand slot... I toss it but then it comes back to me in like a split second.

If I die, I can use Yoyos in my Main-hand slot but the moment I switch it to a different spot on the hotbar... it bugs out and I can't toss it anymore.

Now if I only have a Yoyo in my Off-hand slot, I'm able to use it but it won't let me if there's something in my Main-hand, such as a block or a sword. Sometimes it still won't let you toss a Yoyo in your Off-hand slot despite your Main-hand being empty.

Here's the weird part, if you duel-wield Yoyos... you can toss the Main-hand Yoyo but the moment I remove the Off-hand Yoyo? You're unable to toss the Main-hand Yoyo.

This issue didn't occur in 'yoyos_1.12.2-1.2.2.20.jar'.

When using Enchanting Table with Yoyo in hand, will throw yoyo and cannot look up items' descriptions.

• Shear Yoyo can shear high flowers, leaves and cobweb
• Sticky Yoyo can attach to entity
• Yoyos have a knock back when attacking entity

this happened when i put a yo yo in the tool station to modifie it. has been reported to Tcon aswell.

Have nothing in your main-hand and try attacking, you will see that you can punch normally. Now... equip any yoyo in your off-hand and try attacking again. You'll notice that your attacks are slower than usual.

OR

Equip a Stone Axe since it has 0.8 attack speed and try attacking. You will notice that it's slow with attacking. Now... equip any yoyo in your off-hand and try attacking again. You will notice that your axe attacks faster than usual.

In short... the yoyo's attack speed in your off-hand will overwrite your attack speed for your main-hand. This can temporally be fixed if you re-equip the main-hand AFTER you put the yoyo in your off-hand, just don't pause the game as the off-hand attack speed will once again overwrite the main-hand attack speed.

This also happens with any of the Tinker's Construct yoyos if they're in your off-hand.

EDIT
If you un-equip the yoyo in your off-hand and you have a Stone Axe in your main-hand. The Stone Axe's attack speed will be treated as if you had no item held meaning I can attack quickly with the axe. Pausing the game or re-equipping the item will fix the attack speed.

Hello. Using this mod on the server causes the yoyo to stop working/glitch out.

This only occurs on a dedicated server, singleplayer is fine.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Host Server with mod.
2. Pop into server with mod.
3. Get any yoyo.
4. Doesn't work properly.

I made a tinkers yoyo with max length and i noticed the length is not as long as mentioned (57 length is not 57 blocks) is this intended?

Yoyos, becoming invisible.

Steps to Reproduce (for bugs)

1.Play on server.
2.Craft a Yoyo, offhand empty, use it with main hand,
3.The Yoyo becomes invisible, however, can attack.

btw, I cannot use yoyo with offhand, something with mainhand.
and, if main hand empty, I can use yoyo with offhand, but it becomes invisible.
and, if something with offhand, I can use yoyo.

I can't emboss yoyos with moar tinkers parts

I was trying out different materials on yoyos to see which one does the most damage but has the most durability and speed when I noticed somethings, speed carries over between yoyos when switching to your off-hand. I had two yoyos, a cobalt one with a manyullyn axle and string cord and a manyullyn one with a manyullyn axle and string cord, so it could be a fair test. I had the manyullyn one in my off-hand and the cobalt one in my main hand. I threw out the cobalt one and switched to the manyullyn one. Surprisingly it moved at the same speed as the cobalt one, which enabled me to absolutely destroy everything. I tried to show it in a photo, but I couldn't ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I wish I knew how to narrow this one down, but I finally got it to happen when I was paying attention with a TiCo yoyo in my offhand. I launched it to collect an item and it disappeared after making the "item pickup" sound, without showing up in my inventory. I've had it happen multiple times, with single and multiple items. Any more info I can help with?

Atm the yoyo does a set amount of damage depending on what type of material is used for the body.
That’s a good thing for the vanilla yoyos but I think you should add a more prominent damage calculation. To enhance them especially for tinkers yoyos!
For example a heavy yoyo shouldn’t be only slower to move but should hit a bit harder than a fast lighter yoyo so people need to decide if they want a fast one or a stronger one with slower movement.

Another thing would be the spinning speed (a new variable) that instead of making these yoyos spin infinitely with materials like a flint axel (way to easy to get) make the duration a yoyo can stay out a fixed amount of time like let’s say base stat 5-6 seconds and this can only be increased with lubricant modifier. (With a cap so like every ink gives one lubrication adding in like 4-5 seconds up to a max of 5 that should be totally enough)

And give the axel a different value instead. Namely spinning speed which will determine how fast the yoyo hits when it’s out on the mob so you get a base hit for throwing the yoyo at an enemy and then depending on spinning speed you get time it takes for the yoyo to reapply this damage. This neatly ties in with how long yoyos can stay out meaning a yoyo that cans say out for 10 seconds and has a base damage of 4 x the material weight modifier let’s say it’s kind of heavy 1.3 making the damage 5.2 now the spinning speed due to an axle with a really high friction is slow and it only spins around after 2 seconds (that’s a really bad axel there maybe cactus XD) making it do its 5.2 damage in this 2 seconds at most 5 times if you can keep it on the mob. (You can calculate how this would turn out with lighter material or lower friction etc)
That way it would be a neater way to adjust them.

Basically:

Body: Base Durability (the base durability) base damage (material value like wood 2) and weight (a modifier to speed and damage the higher this number the slower but extra dmg the lower the less dmg but faster. Bas of 1 so 0.8 would be less Weight but more speed and 1.9 would be super strong heavy but slow really slow to move sideways).

Cord: Length (max blocks range) and spinning speed modifier (adding in more adjustability to the amount of spins per second maybe or something else)

Axle: Durability modifier (the normal durability modifier) and Spinning speed base stat depending on material (make this easy to adjust basically 1=spins one time per second 2=spins 2 times per second 0.5 spins one time in 2 seconds etc)

------ this idea simply came to me when I went over all the material dependent config files and noticed that a yoyo that’s light and does a lot of damage is kind of not making sense it being faster yes but I was like Wight shouldn’t just adjust the speed but also the damage a bit. And also I was totally like ye flint axels are broken af same as ice giving them low friction ok but infinity spinning??

And lastly if a yoyo is sticky it should on right click pull the user towards the stuck location XD
And I think the shears modifier makes yoyos not do damage anymore to mobs same as hoe.

Unsure if it's 'Tinkers Construct' or 'Yoyos' so I'll give it a mention here first.

I noticed this when attempting to emboss a Prismarine Body onto my yoyo so it'll have the traits "Jagged + Aquadynamic"... however... apparently only the "Aquadynamic" trait from that material gets embossed onto it. If I add the body material to replace a body material, I'll get those traits normally.

I tried other materials that gives two or more traits... such as Yoyo Bodies and apparently those are affected as well. Just to name some materials and going by just the mods above...

Netherack Body - Aridiculous + Hellish
Grants "Hellish" if embossed.

Pig Iron Body - Baconlicious + Tasty.
Grants "Tasty" if embossed.

Knightslime Body - Sticky + Crumbling.
Grants "Sticky" if embossed.

If going by extra materials added from other mods, such as Plustic + others...

Plustic + Draconic Evolution
Awaken Body - Rude Awakening + Brown Magic.

P.S.
Now this one I am not sure if it's Plustic or Yoyos. Some materials aren't available as usable parts for the Yoyos. One example is 'Bloodwood' which is missing for Yoyos but Fusewood, Darkwood & Ghostwood Yoyo parts exist for them if you have Natura added.

Upon configuring the default yoyos to be disabled so as to make yoyos solely through Tinkers' Construct, the default cord item remains enabled, despite not having an actual use.

Heres some ideas i had for more yoyo modifiers!

Ender-use the power of a ender pearl to do many things! (removes some attack damage)

1. at base, adding a ender pearl will make the player teleport to the location of the end of the yoyo when pressing shift and auto reel it in
2. adding it to a sticky yoyo will also allow you to teleport on top of a block if the yoyo is stuck to the side of the block, will teleport the player to the location of the yoyo if the top is obstructed and unable to fit the player
3. adding it to a yoyo with collecting will make drops teleport directly into your inventory instead of being left on the yoyo

spring-yeee (removes some length from the yoyo)

1. causes yoyos to instantly retract and extend using shift and space and launching it with right click
2. mobs hit by the extention get dealt extra damage and a ton of knockback
3. retracting (shift) with a stuck sicky yoyo will launch the player with a LOT of force (like a slime sling from tinkers) (will unstick yoyo in prosess)
4. incompatible with ender on a yoyo with glue or sticky

extended- expands yoyos hitbox (increases weight)

1. if a mining modifier is added to yoyos, extends yoyo dig size
2. makes yoyo hitbox wider
3. extends shearing aoe and farming aoe

When using the Tinkers YoYo the damage for iron is oddly high. I assume that is a mistake.

Yoyos currently do melee damage it appears. This enables ranged wither fights in its "melee only" stage.

Can this be changed? I suppose some would argue they want that still - so not sure if theres a way to give the option of one or the other.

I really love this mod without a doubt. Discovered it while playing Forever Stranded Lost Souls and just fell in love. I love the augment of the hopper when using the tinkers version of the weapon, but I really wish you could apply this augment to the vanilla version of the weapon as well somehow. The main reason I'm asking for this is because I added the mod to my own modpack Atom Smasher, but there is no way I'm going to have Tinkers in my pack (OP, don't fit the theme).

Is there anyway you could see fit to make it possible to add that enhancement for the vanilla versions, like maybe applying a hopper to the yoyo using an anvil?

Replication steps:

1. Obtain a yoyo

2. Add the collecting enchantment using an anvil

3. Toss a handful of enchanted books on the ground in one place

4. Use the yoyo to pick up the books

What I expect to happen: Each enchanted book will enter my inventory as a different item stack

What actually happens: The enchanted books will stack

seems like the string is far from the actual hand

and the when placed off hand, it goes to the left side, but still far from hand

Happens with all the Yo-Yos whether it be vanilla Yo-Yos Tinker's Construct Yo-Yos or the all powerful Rainbow Yo-Yo, etc.

The damage from Yo-Yos when equipped in the Off-Hand will be ignored but instead it goes based off your Main-Hand damage. Say... you have a Rainbow Yo-Yo which has insane damage and such and you equip that in your Off-Hand and nothing in your Main-Hand and you start using it. It'll deal damage as if you were punching with your fist.

If you wield a Diamond Sword alongside the Rainbow Yo-Yo. It's damage will be based off the Diamond Sword.

If into Tinker's Construct... you made a Manyullyn Yo-Yo and a Manyullyn Broadsword and you use the Yo-Yo in the Off-Hand and the Broadsword in the Main-Hand. The Yo-Yo's damage will use the Broadsword's damage which is weaker than with just using the Yo-Yo in your Main-Hand.

The Yo-Yo's in the Main-Hand however... work as intended.

As far as dupes go this one is somewhat mild but still a dupe so I figured you should know about it. I think yoyos are duping armor that drops from mobs. I have a custom armor thing written for mobs in my pack and it has a long list of possible enchants along with dozens of different armor types. Considering I've gotten the same ones now and then with the exact same enchants/armor type more than should be possible I think it's safe to say yoyos are causing it (I haven't run into this before)

Bug: tinker Yoyos stop doing damage to mobs when adding sheers and hoes

This yoyo has two main issues, with the former being worse.

• The homing seems to be either non-functional, or so weak that it's barely noticeable.

  • It still consumes mana as-if the homing is working.
  • The only thing i've noticed as "homing" is it quickly reeling back if the player hovers the crosshair over an enemy, but all other yoyo's do this, albeit more slowly, so I assume it's not working.

• It doesn't auto-repair with mana, this being an issue is pretty self-explanatory .

I have a player on a server that I admin for is reporting that yoyos don't work for him and after some testing mp vs sp it seems to be a server issue. I do know that server is running sponge. https://youtu.be/lvPf3VTka0A here is me testing on the server of what is happening. Server is running 4.1.0 of skyfactory 4. I have talked to some of the mods on their discord and they said it should have been fixed in 4.1.0. Any help would be great.

So am using 1.14.4 and uh i cant throw the rest of the yoyos, sticky still works fine so thats good...
Don't know how to fix already tried config.
