Before I set the ssl certificates I was able to connect to the jupyterhub server. However, as soon as I assigned self signed certificates in the jupyterhub_config.py file, I am no longer able to connect at all. It turns out this is because using self signed certificates means the api is now displaying on https not http. When I hit refresh on the web browser it was looking on http.

Our first objective is to get jupyterhub up and running. The server needs to be running accessible through http from the host.

Getting an internal server error when trying to start the jupyterhub server.

500 : Internal Server Error Failed to start your server. Please contact admin. You can try restarting your server from the home page.

c.JupyterHub.admin_users={'vagrant','jupyterhub'} use this syntax
