hawdict's Introduction

HawDict

CI Build

HawDict creates offline versions of popular Hawaiian dictionaries in a variety of digital dictionary formats.

By default all files produced by HawDict will use the proper Unicode characters for the ʻokina and kahakōs: ʻ ā ē ī ō ū Ā Ē Ī Ō Ū. However, for (typically older) dictionary formats where these characters cannot be used, HawDict will substitute ASCII instead: ' a e i o u A E I O U.

HawDict was written in C# and should run anywhere that supports .NET 6.0. It has been officially tested on:

  • Windows 10

For help building/running HawDict and/or using the created dictionaries, please see the HawDict Wiki.

Latest version on linux says "saved 0 results" for each dictionary, perhaps a change of URL is needed?

Thanks for making this!
