adventofcode's Introduction

My solutions to adventofcode.com puzzles.

I post videos of me solving the puzzles in real-time at https://www.youtube.com/@jonathanpaulson5053.

Run with (where 13.in contains the input for that day):

pypy 13.py 13.in

Each solution should print two lines - the answer for part1 and the answer for part2.

adventofcode's Issues

dx > d instead of dx>=d

Hi thank you for posting your solutions to aoc2023 :)

I have been inspired with your solutions and come by from time to time to check how you code to approach a problem.
Congratulations on maintaining your position on the leaderboard!

In your day 6 implementation, I found a small error in this line:

if dx>=d:

The condition dx >= d in the if clause would give a wrong answer to Part 1 in the example data.
The correct condition should be dx > d.

Just a small detail, and thank you so much again for sharing your solution ๐Ÿ‘

Redundant state in 2022 Day 19

In 2022 Day 19, you do not need to keep the state of r4, since when you build a geode robot, you can immediately calculate how many geodes this robot can collect.
