Did you modify any code? Or did you replace the ClientID?
If I run it without modification, I can use the example without problems.

Hi Johnny, The only thing I changed is the ClientID to use my own Spotify App ID. What is the flow of things?
When I run it, I get a browser page to log in. I do the log in and then it gives me two options to Log out or go to account details
from spotifyapi-net.
There we go 😃
You need to add http://localhost
as a RedirectURL to your Spotify Application (here)
Some more infos are here
from spotifyapi-net.
I have set that already. The only other thing I have changed is the Port number (to 8020) as it keeps complaining about port 80
from spotifyapi-net.
With changing the port, the redirect URI has to be changed too.
But, spotify doesn't allow redirectURIs like http://localhost:8020
for some reason.
Currently, the only way to solve it, is to find out whats blocking port 80. Do you have XAMPP or something else installed? You can check your ports e.g with netstat -a -b
from spotifyapi-net.
It only works if I comment out the line:
auth.StopHttpServer();
Is the idea of this to use the WebAPI to get the tracks/Albums and then to use the Client API to play them? It seems we cannot use the WebAPI to play!
from spotifyapi-net.
auth.StopHttpServer() will end the HTTP-Server listen-thread. It's a pretty harsh method and I need to find something better.
Thats one method, yes. Fetch tracks with the WebAPI and then let the spotify player play them (using the LocalAPI).
(You can't play with the SpotifyWebAPI because Spotify didn't implemented it yet)
