Engine message

Hi John,
I do not really want to mess with issues in the engine but I get this message about a position from a Meiji game where such a problem would not have gone undetected. Any hint where this message is generated? I could not find the strings in the engine sources.

Gshogi V 0.5.0, external engines

Hi,
I am using Gshogi 0.45 and 0.50. With 0.5 external usi-engines do not run: the threads are started but do not receive usi-commands. Installed on Linux Mint 17.3 Python 3.4.3. Has somebody a hint?
