A VSH menu taiHEN plugin for the PS VITA games and homebrews. Currently does not work in SceShell.

This plugin is no longer maintained. Please use something else or don't use it. Any issues reported will be ignored.

Features

  • Control CPU/GPU clock states separately for each title and save them.
  • Restore configured CPU/GPU clock states, once plugin has been started.
  • Battery percent, hours remaining as well as battery temperature display can be toggled.
  • VSH Menu colours for minimal customization as well as an option to set your own colours.
  • Quick launch with 5 slots. (Once the launcher.cfg file is generated in ur0:/data/vsh/launcher.cfg, feel free to change the title and title IDS to your preference. Keep in mind you can't use spaces for the title's name and you can't go above 5 (0-4) slots in the meantime.)
  • Quick Reboot/Shutdown/Suspend/Restart device in game.
  • FPS display.

Installation

Put vsh.suprx and kuio.skprx in "tai" folder in the root of your Vita (ur0:/tai/). If you already have kuio installed from another plugin then you don't need to use the one bundlded in VSH's release.

Edit config.txt in that directory to load plugin for title of your choice by adding new lines like below:

Go to settings -> Henkaku settings -> Reload tai config -> Reboot device. Then use L + R + START or L + R + SELECT to open the VSH menu.

Custom colours

Uses 8 digit hex codes -> AARRGGBB.

Open ur0:/data/vsh/custom_colour_config.cfg using your computer, or VITAShell and edit the following to your liking.

TITLE_BG_COL = Title background colour
BG_COL = Background colour
CURSOR_COL = Cursor/selector colour
TITLE_TEXT_COL = Title font colour
TEXT_COL = Font colour

lower resolution games not properly supported

The overlay is not properly adjusted for lower resolution games such as Sly 1.

Only the time is shown but it is large and is shown on the right. the battery percentage and fps cannot be seen.

ModNation Racers always crashes

Hi there,

when I run ModNation Racers - Road Trip (PCSF00002), the system always crashes. Error message: "GPU Driver detects GPU Crash. Generating CoreDump: [***********]"

When I disable the plugin, the game runs without any issues. I also tried manipulating the config file for the game (GPU = 1/2/3), but the outcome is still the same.

System info:

  • PlayStation Vita Slim
  • Firmware: 3.65 Enso
  • PSV-VSH-Menu: v3.4

Breaks Adrenaline when loaded under *ALL

when VSH.suprx is loaded through *ALL in the taiHEN config.txt, adrenaline does not respond to any button presses. Interestingly, when I press X, it brings up the PSV WSH Recovery Menu. Removing VSH.suprx from the config.txt makes adrenaline work without issue, so this is certainly a problem caused by VSH.suprx

VSH menu doesn't show up on a few games

Hi there,

I tested the 2.0 version, but the menu doesn't show up on PCSH00297 YS VIII. It works with other games, however. I think it might be due to its using a mass amount of memory (but then oclockvita and batterypercent both worked fine with it before) or because a combo for pressing L and R button together exist as a control in-game.

Can you look into it?

Also, is there a way to keep battery information on-screen even after turning off the vsh menu?

PSV-VSH Menu in adrenaline

So I found a bug when trying to open psv vsh in adrenaline and it won't appear but when I open the settings (ps button+select) it suddenly appeared then when pressing directional buttons to select, it scrolls too fast that it's hard to select exit especially if you press the left and right buttons because it changes the option while scrolling down fast

Give it a try, open psv vsh in adrenaline then go to it's settings

PSV-VSH-Menu does not isolate input on some games

Some games like project diva f/f2nd/X still registers input when on the vsh-menu. Also they become very laggy when the vsh-menu is on screen. I tried it on another game DQB and it works just as intended. Is this an incompatibility with the game engine itself?

Option to force max brightness

The previous version of VHS Menu didn't lower the brightness in games but now it does once overclocked.
Any way we can get an option to stop lowering it?

Games "default" to the wrong clock speed

Hey, I've tested with both Uncharted:Golden abyss and Persona 3: Dancing moon night, and both default to 333mhz when they should be at 444. Additionally, from what I've seen, every game defaults at 333. Any advice?

config .cfg and idgame.cfg = 0b

I used psvita tv 3.60 and sd2vita, i have an issue, when i set clock a few game or set fps enable > config.cfg in vsh folder or .cfg in folder titles not saved and changed > 0B, at this time psvita sometime is frezzy and not sleep or shutdow. Howerver PSV VSH MENU is great app for psvita and psvita tv, i like it. Thank you very much !

Adrenaline is laggy since v3.3

Hi there (again),

when I run something in Adrenaline/PspEmu (NPXS10028), Adrenaline gets laggy. Animations still seem smooth, but transitions don't always do. It's especially noticable when switching from Adrenaline to the LiveArea screen.

This first occured in v3.3. It doesn't happen in v3.2.

System info:

  • PlayStation Vita Slim
  • Firmware: 3.65 Enso
  • PSV-VSH-Menu: v3.3/3.4

Hello, I'm doing some research with the kuio plugin. Could you please upload the source of modified kuio used in PSV VSH Menu for better understanding of how it works? Thanks.

Vsh Menu with RetroArch

Is it possible to run vsh menu for retroarch?
The Overclocking give more performance for the retrogaming with shader.

Tearaway Camera function not working.

Not sure if this is an issue with kuio or vsh, but I report it here anyway because is related.

The camera just output plain black image, when I open the camera app after suspending the game (PS Button) the output is buggy and has tearing.

Option to move the FPS counter to the top-left

Back when I was using the Framecounter plugin, the FPS counter was always on the top-left, so I am always used to seeing it there. I would like to have the option to move the FPS counter to the top-left since it seems to be a more reliable spot to view my FPS rather than the bottom of the screen.

C2-12828-1 error for PCSH-00204 with VSH

Dear joel16,

I really enjoy to play my vita with VSH menu.
Everything is getting better and better, but just one thing from old version to now...

I can not play my favorite game as below because C2-12828-1 error showing when VSH menu installed.

When I got updated VSH, I expect no more error but... still not working.

I'm ok bcz it's only one game but it will be amazing if I can play that with VSH.

Seems like plugin sometimes screws up default clock

I assume that "default" means working on clock developers intended. But with plugin on some games start to lag 'cause it seems that's not it. I can't say about older version but for current 3.4 it's true.

For e.g., Danganronpa 2. At the start of the second chapter there is scene with lots of objects and with plugin on and default settings (cpu "default", gpu "default: , check every 30 seconds) game lags. With plugin off it's perfect. I assume that's not the only game like that 'cause Conception 2 behaves the same.

Is there anyway not to change clock for some games except disabling plugin for them?

EDIT: Made some mistakes, corrected them

X/O on Japanese Vita.

Even on a Japanese Vita the VSH menu uses the western style of X for selecting things and O for going back. For Japanese consoles, this should be flipped. There is a registry setting you can check to see which button should do which function, but I do not recall its name.

Problem with Timespinner (PCSE01246)

Anytime you use the elevator the VSH menu opens and starts cycling through options randomly.

The elevator only requires pressing the up or down d-pad, so it is very strange.

Game crash on change menu colour White/Red

If you scroll past white on the VSH Menu colour using the right key to get to red from white it will cause a game crash.

If you press left from red to get to white it also crashes

VSH menu doesn't show up on 3.61+ games

VSH menu doesnt showed up on 3.61+ games. i tested SAO hollow realization and FATE EXTELLA. my fw is enso 3.65. and i tested eiyuu densetsu sora no kiseki SC evo and it did showed up. tested on vitashell too and it works. pls fix this. thanks a lot man u're the best!

System lockups with the new 1.1 release

Plugin is loaded as *ALL and the initial release worked like intended.
With the new release I have noticeable stutter/slowdown in the main shell which is strange in itself.
And constant random total system lockups while browsing files in vitashell and doing simple file operations.
I also have a SD2Vita adapter with the SD loaded as main memory, maybe it's relevant.

Doesn't work on H-ENORE with SD2VITA 3.68

I put both files in ur0 ( this is where it goes for SD2VITA)

added the *All vsh file

plugin is correctly installed but nothing happens when i press L+R + Start

I am using StorageMgr for the sd2vita plugin. Gamesd didn't work.

This plugin causes slowdown in homebrew

The plugin causes slowdown in many homebrew emulators (fps=40 instead of 60 etc.) for example in Uae4all2 Amiga emulator, in Retroarch, and PFBA emulator.

This is a pain for devs because people complain about slowdown when it is your plugin causing this.

Please put a note on the release page that this plugin is known to cause slowdown in many homebrew apps or fix the issue.

Incompatible with Adrenaline

When vsh.suprx is enabled under *ALL, the menu starts simultaneously with Adrenaline.
Also, scrolling does not work right in Adrenaline.

FTP Support

Hey @joel16 good work!
I have one question, would it be possible to add ftp functionality?
So that we could uploading/downloading files during gameplay.

PS TV Menu navigation sensivity

When I'm using the plugins on my PS TV, the sensivity is way too high for a PS3 controller. If I press Up/Down on the D-Pad it doesn't jump only one menu item up/down. Instead it scrolls at high speed through the available items, which makes it mostly impossible to select the correct menu item on the PS TV. I haven't tested it with a PS4 controller yet.

Version 3.2 doesn't display the correct clock speeds.

I know that once I overclock the system using the menu, it will overclock the system automatically everytime I boot up the game I want to play, however when I open the menu after rebooting a game, the clocks display as CPU 333/222 and GPU 166/166 instead of CPU 444/222 and GPU 222/166.

Probably the correct overclocks are in place, however what is written in the menu is not correct.
