jessykate.github.io's Issues

maintaining value

  • consider something like 2D/night charge for non-fiat-stays?
  • secondary market for D
  • enough spaces to stay in the network is critical to maintaining the value of the currency
  • incentive to
  • local redistribution in a house

Get started: 3 month MVP

initial resource decisions: october

  • who wants to back rooms until end of 2020
    • potential: fey, berlin flat, esf, tony and louise's vans
    • specify fluidity of rooms within specific to the locations
    • figure out local dynamics for each location (esf, fey, wilbur, berlin, vans...)
  • figure out "backend" details
  • survey of needs

run experiment: november and december

  • gather lots of data and learn all the ways it breaks

review: dec. 31

  • at 4D!

initial resource survey: rooms backing, where, fiat cost.

  • will esf room
  • will wilbur room
  • athiye berlin 1 room
  • david 1 room berlin
  • jessica up to 8 rooms (number of rooms in biancourt)
  • lou: backing room at ESF,
  • jk and robbie: esf, wilbur (5 rooms between; staying until oct 18th)
  • prima: backing a room at fey, paris apartment.
  • anika: backing a room at fey nov and dec.
  • tony: van
  • louise: add 'sheila' (van) + stay at fey.
  • olaf: floater + secondary market + breaking stuff ("RED TEAM")
  • bea: thailand treehouse or fey TBD.

(* liuba and marc: work space not sleep space)

locational questions to answer:

  • are DRFT rooms a specific room or just a specific number of rooms
  • how or would income (D/Euro/$) be shared, waterfalled, or redistributed within locations?

Visualisation of the embassy

Idea for simplification of shared understanding:

  • to make network representation of the distributed residency, e.g. plot locations spatially embedded in space (networkx, geopandas, or https://maphub.net/map)
  • to make interactive map, where it would be clear who traveled from where, e.g. from A to B, encoded as A->B, B->C.

Then this could help to understand who travels where and why.

Gaming through setting your price high

if you set your price too high, no one will stay with you-- but i you only accept members (paying in D) then you will end up with too high a proportion of income without paying.
