denby's Issues

User columns don't update

Clicking a username from the main column opens a new column with that user's history. Works great, but the intuitive thing would be for this column to update with new tweets from that user as well -- currently it doesn't seem to, it's stuck in time at the point the column was opened.

Should not always shorten URL

Seems at the moment, that Denby will always shorten the URL, no matter what, which means an already short URL (eg, www.foo.com), will still be shortened.

This should be configurable whether auto shortening happens or not.

Tweet button broken

Problem:
When writing new tweets, the tweet button will change from gray to white background yet never seems to send the tweet.

Workaround:
CTL+enter works without a fault.

Platform:
Browser: Chromium
Version: 10.0.634.0

Reconnect and/or report socket.io connectivity on failure

Firstly, Denby needs to reconnect on failures (using similar rules to the Twitter streams reconnection in the server).

If it can't, it MUST report such failures to the user, otherwise the client sits around doing nothing without them knowing.

Enable option for all @replies to be shown when running on userstreams

I've noticed that only @replies to mutual followers are being shown currently. I'd prefer the default was to show these, just like the main twitter website, or have an option to enable them.

From the userstreams documentation:
"By default @replies are only sent from mutual followings. All @replies by followings can be enabled with the replies=all parameter. For example, if Alice follows Bob, but Alice doesn’t follow Carol, by default if Bob @replies Carol, Alice does not see the tweet. The default behavior mimics www.twitter.com and api.twitter.com behavior. If an application wishes to display all @replies, or a filtered subset of @replies, use replies=all."

First tweet will appear in the incorrect column.

In my case, i had denby open, refreshed it because it wouldn't let me tweet*, and then when i sent the tweet, it appeared in the Search column (for node.js, etc).

Seems similar to a bug that was fixed, but much different circumstances.

  • This will also be a bug, if i can reproduce it! ;)

Load new columns on far right

New columns currently open adjacent to the one that generated them. This pushes all other columns to the right. Nicer if new columns open on the far right?

Browser Compatibility

This issue is to track browser compatibility issues using Alpha version of Denby.

Other alpha testers please add further browser specific notes.
