Flagitect

A simple mobile app to design flags. It's completely Free and Open Source software, released under the MIT license. It's written using React Native with the following libraries:

Features

Flagitect allows you to design flags with ease.

  • Set up a basic flag with proportions, divisions and colours.
  • Export your design as SVGs or PNGs.
  • Add charges. Everything from stars to piles to crosses and saltires.
  • Repeat your charges to create pretty patterns!

Links

Setup for Prod

  • Clone repo.
  • Copy upload keystore from Google Drive and paste it inside android/app
  • Update android/gradle.properties with keystore password from Google Drive.
  • Run ./gradlew assembleRelease inside the android folder to get the .aab file, and upload it to Google Play!

Border colour is confusing for users

The control for border colour is confusingly placed in the menu. Users might think it belongs to the charge they just added.

  • Set title of border colour setting to "Set Border Colour"
  • Disable it when border is 0%
  • Open charge editor when you add a charge

Update Pall rendering

The current Pall rendering is incorrect, shift to using three Rects with rotation.

Ability to reorder charges

Right now, charges need to be cloned to be brought to the top of the stack.

We might want to consider how we display charges in order and how we can reorder them.

Bump version number

Bump version number because Google is complaining about the account being inactive

Colour Picker enhancements

  • Add new User Colour Picker to pick colours based on hue
  • Add ability to change selected division colours
