KSU T-Rover STEM Kit

The Kennesaw State University T-Rover STEM Kit is a GPS-waypoint following robotic platform. The STEM kit development was commissioned by T-Mobile in August 2020, and completed by the Intelligent Mobile Device Lab @ KSU in April 2021. The STEM kit is open for all users that would like to learn more about connected autononous vehicles, or who would like to build a low-cost GPS-based path following robot. The STEM kit can be assembled for $600 - $1,200 (download the latest Bill Of Materials).

Requirements

  • GPS-RTK Base Station (either DIY or locally available)
  • Android smartphone with:
  • +cellular data access
  • +Wi-Fi hotspot capability
  • Google Play Account to purchase: USB Serial Port to TCP/IP Socket, UDP (or similar app)
  • 3D printer for phone holder
