mcr12_serial's Issues

Error when running the scanner with RaspberryPi

I get the following error "super() takes at least 1 argument. 0 given", on line 25 of mcr12_serail.py file, when running "bcd = BarcodeScanner("/path/to/serial/device", baudrate=9600)"

I'm using Rpi 3 with the USB module. Can the problem be at the path given in the above command?

Thanks for the library

Scanning always timing out

I tried your code to use the symcode 1D barcode scanner but I think I am missing some configurations because scanning is always timing out although I am passing a timeout value of 0

This is the steps I followed:

  1. Scanned the barcode from the documentation to reset everything to factory setting (000B0)
  2. Scanned the barcode to set it to USB virtual COM communication mode (000603)
  3. Scanned the barcode to set the baudrate to 9600 (000705)
  4. Called the method from this library to scan a barcode with a timeout of 0

Is there a missing step here? Thanks!
