leaflet.marker.stack's Introduction

L.Marker.Stack & L.Icon.Chip

A client-side implementation of @CartoDB's idea of a stacked chips symbolizer.

Image of a few chip stacks with random data

This is composed of two parts:

  • L.Marker.Stack allows displaying several L.Icons on a stack top of each other, at the same L.LatLng.
  • L.Icon.Chip is a ellipse-shaped L.Icon.

L.Marker.Stack reference

Behaves like a L.Marker, but has the following options:

  • icons: Must be an Array of L.Icons. The order of the icons in the array defines the stacking order. This deprecates the icon property.
  • stackOffset: An instance of L.Point. Defines how many pixels each icon is offset from the previous one. The default is [0, -5], which means each icon is offset 5 pixels vertically towards the top (it is possible to make downward-facing stacks).
  • stackZOffset: An integer, affecting the z-index of the icons. Positive values display the last icon on top, negative values display the first icon on top. The default is a positive 1.

L.Icon.Chip reference

Behaves like a L.DivIcon, but has the following extra options:

Example

var stack = L.marker.stack(myCenter, {
	icons: [
		L.icon.chip({ color: 'red' }),
		L.icon.chip({ color: 'red' }),
		L.icon.chip({ color: 'blue' }),
		L.icon.chip({ color: 'lime' }),
	],
	stackOffset: [0, -5]
});

map.addLayer(stack);

leaflet.marker.stack's Issues

bindPopup does not work

It does not seem to work:
L.marker.stack([48.1452853,17.0980958], { icons: [L.icon.chip({ color: "#ffffbf", iconSize: 10 }), L.icon.chip({ color: "#ffffbf", iconSize: 10 }), L.icon.chip({ color: "#a2a27b", iconSize: 10 }), ], stackOffset: [0, -5] }).addTo(map).bindPopup("<h2>231/7491</h2>CO2:0<br>CO2H:0<br>CO2T:0<br>P1:31<br>P10:37<br>P25:35<br>P4:36<br>PAX:0<br>alt:0<br>dsl:SENSIRION<br>hum:61.799999237061<br>lat:48.1452853<br>lon:17.0980958<br>main:0<br>pdist:1857<br>pre:0<br>spd:3<br>timestamp:1646380298<br>tmp:0.20000000298023<br>type:air<br>file_id:231<br>");

chip.createIcon is not a function

Good morning Ivan, I really love all the hard work you do and that you share your hard work with everyone. I'm trying to implement this solution but I cannot seem to figure out how to get rid of this error. chip.createIcon is not a function in Leaflet.Marker.Stack.js: 22. I'm using leaflet 1.2.0. Any thoughts?

Demos broken

Due to #1, @nerik put the demos in a subdirectory, but he forgot to replace the path of the plugin files (from Leaflet.Marker.Stack.js to ../Leaflet.Marker.Stack.js), and so the demos won't work.

Any chance of a version that is backwards compatible with leaflet 0.7 ?

Many other plugins "only" support leaflet 0.7 - I know that's their issue not yours - but it means that quite a few users are stuck on 0.7 while the plugins get sorted.
Your's seems to be 1.0 in that it requires this.getPane() support. Is there a workaround to make it also work on 0.7 ?
