QuickSynergy 1.2 (MAC) - autoconnect feature missing?!?

Hello,

I'm using QuickSynergy 1.2 on a OSX 10.7.2 machine to connect to a synergy 1.4.
server running on a Windows 7 box.

The issue I have is that I have to click on "Run" to establish the connection
to the Windows machine. Is there no autoconnect feature in QuickSynergy? I want
to use the OSX machine without keyboard and mouse attached.

Best Regards,
nona

magic mouse scrolling gets multiplied

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. quick synergy 1.2 installed on both server and client
2. server = yosemite 10.10.4 client = 10.7.5
3. when using magic mouse on server, then connecting to a synergy screen, the
magic mouse scroll area becomes very sensitive and practically unusable (its
multiplies the scrolling factor)

very annoying to have to use the scrollbars...

would be awesome if someone can overcome this...

thanks!

QuickSynergy Server/Windows 7 client problems with Outlook 2007

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect Ubuntu 11.1 QuickSynergy server with Windows 7 Synergy 1.3.8 client
2. Open Outlook
3. Synergy stops responding on client

Seamless operation of Synergy regardless of application being open is what is
expected.

Waking from idle on Client bypasses Lock (password) screen on Host (temporarily)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. With 2 connected computers, move mouse to client screen and wait
2. Let both computers go idle, so that both screens lock and go black
3. Move mouse (still on client screen only) to wake up computer(s)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
+ Expected: (Un)Lock screen (showing password prompt dialog only) is shown on
both. (Or at the least, unlock on client and unchanged black idle screen on
host.)
+ Observed: Unlock screen will display on client, but host screen will display
active desktop & windows - as if the password dialog was bypassed
automatically.
As soon as you try to move the mouse back to the host screen to interact with anything, it *will* hide everything and switch to the unlock screen, prompting you for your password. However, the point remains that someone could passively see/read everything you currently have up on your host machine without needing to enter your password.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
- quicksynergy 0.9.0 (both)
Host:
 - Ubuntu 12.04 (GNOME Classic)
 - (x86_64)
Client:
 - Ubuntu 12.04 (Unity)
 - (ARM - PandaBoard)

Please provide any additional information below.
This doesn't seem to happen the other way (when you wake on Host, only Host shows lock screen, Client remains idle/black).

synergys server deamon not started after Mac OS X awake

Combined with the fact that QuickSynergy still display the 'stop' button in
the share tab, it is a very bad combo

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch QuickSynergy for sharing on Leopard
2. Put the computer to sleep
3. Awake computer
4. clients doesn't connect
5. Press stop button, which will still display stop (Growl notifies
"synergy started")
6. clients can connect now

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
synergy daemon should be still running or at least relaunched when computer
is awaken.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
v1.2 - Leopard

No way to suppress debug output

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run synergys for a while without logging out
2. Observe logs of synergys DEBUG output in ~/.xsession-errors (approx 1GB/day
for me)
3. Eventually run out of disk space

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Ought to be possible to specify what "-d FOO" option is passed to synergys.
Running with "-d ERROR" should probably be the default.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

0.9.0 on Debian testing (wheezy/sid)

Please provide any additional information below.

Arguably, it's a bug in synergys that debugging is on by default.

QuickSynergy in Menu Bar and not in Dock Bar (Mac Os X)

Using Quick Synergy 1.2 on Mac Os X Snow Leopart 10.6.4 ITA.

I would like to minimize the software in the menu bar, near to the clock, and
removing visibility in the dock.

Is it possible to implement this feature?

Thank you

Cannot "mouse in" to client machine

On an Ubuntu 10.11 client machine and an 11.03 Server machine, both using
quicksynergy, whenever the mouse leaves the host machine's screen it will at
first disappear. However, there will be no action on the client machine. Any
further movement and the mouse will reappear perfectly centred back on the host
machine. No keyboard commands will register either for the brief time that the
mouse clears from the host machine.

I've attached a file demonstrating the behavior

Have to open and close multiple times before connecting

I will run quicksynergy on my linux computer and synergy on my windows.

(My windows computer is the server with the mouse and keyboard, while the linux
is the computer I am trying to remotely control)

I Start the Synergy server on my windows computer then try running the
QuickSynergy Client on the linux computer and it won't necessarily connect.
Usually I have to keep doing this over and over and eventually it will connect.

I am wondering why it does this. I would like it to connect first try (not 10th
or 20th).

Any ideas why this is happening.
Here is a working situation:

NOTE: starting server
NOTE: config file: C:/Users/Ferg/AppData/Local/Temp/qt_temp.em3984
NOTE: log level: NOTE
NOTE: started server, waiting for clients
NOTE: accepted client connection
NOTE: client "raspberrypi" has connected

I am also curious why my config file is stored in a temp location?

2. Manually edit the "section: options" in synergy.conf
3. Clicking "execute" on the GUI removes the "section: options" in synergy.conf

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Generated config file needs aliases section

Sharing on Mac OS X 10.5.8 ...

On my system the server won't start because the hostname that the GUI app gets
from the NS* APIs
and puts in the config file doesn't match the hostname that the server gets
from posix APIs. I was
able to fix this by modifying the config file generation code in the GUI to
include an alias section.

My patch to do this is attached. So far it's working great on my machine :)

BTW - Thanks for this great little app!

Windows client

Since the official Synergy application for Windows hasn't had a single
update in years, it would be great if QuickSynergy could be made available
for Windows as well, since it seems to be the Synergy application with most
steam and momentum.

QuickSynergy does everything much better and easier than the official
Windows application, so if it had been available for Windows there'd be no
reason to use the official one over QuickSynergy. I'd use it across the
board to control all of my computers (Linux, OS X and Windows) had it been
available to Windows as well as Linux and OS X.

Application indicator support

Quicksynergy uses GtkStatusIcon, and does not have support for application
indicators. As a result, it cannot be brought back once closed in Ubuntu's
Unity environment which disables the notification area.

The attached patch adds Application Indicator support that is automatically
enabled if the library is found.

It would be neat if QuickSynergy could detect available servers (and

QuickSynergy should minimise to the menu bar rather than dock

It would be cool if QuickSynergy could minimise to the menu bar rather than the
dock on Mac. This
could be set by a checkbox or similar on one of the tabs. If QuickSynergy is
going to show
connection status in the future, the icon could glow red or similar when the
connection is down.
Clicking the icon in the menubar could give run/stop options, and an option to
open the panel.
When QuickSynergy is minimised to the menubar it should disappear from the
dock. This could
work in a way similar to Adobe Updater, Google Mail Notifier or the Tweetie
menu bar icon.

any movement while the mousebutton is down is carried out on the MAC.
