I think this is bound up with renaming authors.

For blog - a simple templating tool to spit out HTML for pasting into a blog.

ie:

/authors/raymond-chandler/books/the-big-sleep

requires slugs, I guess, but perhaps by using to_id cannily we'll be ok.

It'd be nice to be able to sync clippings to Readmill. This is going to require: creation of a reading; creation of comments; saying what product it's from.

Edit author dialogue should have a nifty autocompleter.

Mappings track raw_author_name, raw_book_name, book_id and author_id; on import, they should be referred to before anything else to determine an author.

Or not? This needs investigating, because it's annoyingly complex. Might need some kind of compound join model.

In a similar manner to author name. Perhaps an STI "mappings" table?

Not for handling multiple authors, just because. The answer may well be no.

We need to be able to edit author name, in case it scrapes wrong. This means we can't just edit the field - we need to store mappings and make sure every time we find the wrong name, we map it to a correct one.

See the Reamde clippings, for an example.

Work in progress - the Javascript will all need altering, and perhaps import can be done with a neat drop down?

Author name can never be blank. Add a validation for this, a default blank author, and map books that are default blank to that new author.
