bulk-media-downloader's Issues

Local html

Hi,

I've been using DownloadThemAll before and only used it to bulk save images from locally stored html-files. Please let me download files from local html file, not only from network.

I could not get the RegEx Matching feature to do anything.

I could not get the RegEx Matching feature to do anything. Do you have an example of how to use it? I am a Math Major and a Programmer who understands Regular Expressions, but there does not seem to be any documentation or demonstration of this feature on the web.

Copy Links not working anymore

in firefox bulk media downloader provides the list of marked audio files. only downloading works, but not copying of all the marked links.

Sending download request to TDM on Firefox

On AMO is written:"Bulk Media Downloader supports Turbo Download Manager extension (From Firefox 50.0)", but I have Cyberfox/Firefox 51 and I didn't have button to send downloads to TDM.

Request: Import text file with links to downloads

It would be great if there were a way to import a text file or something with links to things someone wanted to download. Whether it was simply a html page itself or links to whatever type of file.

Impossible to detect the hidden html5 player and download anime streaming video

Hello, thank you again so much for this awesome great downloader ! 💯 🥇

I noticed it is impossible to detect the html5 video player in this anime streaming site and therefore we cannot download this videos :

https://aniwave.to/watch/erased.kkw/ep-6

and

https://kissanime.com.ru/Anime/boku-dake-ga-inai-machi-dub.22213/Episode-003?id=131684

maybe the site hides the html5 video player against extensions and download manager....I even tried for the kissaanime site with Filecenitpede, FDM, coc coc browser, downthemall for the palemoon browser but these softwares did not succeed in detecting and download the videos from kissanime website and we hope this issue will be resolved, thank you very much :)

REQUEST: Option to disable the download notification pop-up.

I love this addon, but one of the two things that have been bugging me for a while now is the pop-up that shows up every time I start a new download to tell me a download has started. I am on a ~720p screen and that pop-up always covers over the save button on the save dialog window and stays up way too long, to the point where I am often stuck having to manually close it out in order to see and use the save button.

I don't really see the point in having it at all, but if you want to keep it around then at least add in a way for those like myself to disable it. I know a download has started, I'm the one who hit the download button after all, so it serves no purpose for me and only manages to get in the way entirely too often.

Given File size options (images) too few

Hi.

I've found and edited in some additional file sizes for images, since I needed 50k and 500k as an additional option.
It's to be found in the /window/index.js and /window/index.html files.
But I sadly can't get the edited and repacked XPI to be installed in Firefox.
Any ideas/possibility on how to add the following lines in the original developer's code here and republish it to Mozilla's Addons-site? Would be greatly appreciated.

Also, on the wishlist would be to be able to sort for file size ascending/descending. That'd be great, too :)

Thanks,
Olli

Main video won't download intact

I encountered a bad situation while downloading from Youtube

  1. I had only one item streaming, and even though I had filtered the downloads to audio and video only, I got dozens of items listed on the Media Tools window. I deselected all except the first five mp4's and the first mp3. Download failed on all except the mp3 and the first three mp4's.

No MP3 and only one MP4 played in Windows' "Movies and TV" program - without audio. No video played in Windows Media Player. Nothing, audio or video, played in Power Director 10, so I could not put audio and video together myself.
The youtube video intended is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8Gxs6BWK2s&list=RDw8Gxs6BWK2s

License issues

Previously I recommended a modification of the GPL guidelines which was wrong. Now I've had a fresh look on the actual license.

Sorry for causing you trouble, I can fork your repository and modify the source files if you want to.

Add option to specify additional file-extensions to match

It would be great if one could specify a regular-expression that could be used to decide which files appear in the list. A fairly common extension (.zip) doesn't appear to be currently supported. Instead of hard-coding the extensions that should be matched, this should be a user-configurable list of extensions or regular-expression.

Option to only track one tab specifically

Could you add the option to select a single tab and only track downloadable elements from that tab. Or could you add a filter to only show the downloadable elements of that tab?

Some UI Colors issue.

Please either specify both background and text colours or neither of them for elements. Your default maybe black, but not everyone's else is. Thanks.

Downthemall replacement?

I just want to make you aware that right now your project is being recommended as a replacement to http://www.downthemall.net/ in the Firefox legacy extensions page (within the browser's options; about:addons last option).

From installing bulk-media-downloader addon and looking at its functionality, it doesn't seem you're solving the same problem that downthemall solves.

Perhaps you can consider adding a comment in the description Firefox links to stating you're not exactly the same as downthemall, or perhaps take this as an opportunity to do some scope creeping and actually adopt downthemall functionality.

Cheers!

Does not work with Vivaldi browser

ver. <= Vivaldi 1.10.845.3 (based on Chromium 58.0.3029.114).
ver. <= Bulk Media Downloader 0.1.6

Bulk Media Downloader just does not open. That's if this extension actually work at all.
It just like that since Vivaldi 2~3 versions bellow. Last time its window does open; I recall it does not even catch anything.

My first suspect, it's caused by how Vivaldi managed its own window/tab. This browser built window/tab from scratch like Opera browser. I also report the issue in Vivaldi forum.

Thank you.

Does not download the listed mp3 files from a website

Hello,
I was trying to contact you but I didn't get a reply so now I'm trying here.
There's a website, where I hit the play button and BulkMediaDownloader recognize the streaming mp3 files and it also shows them listed in its window, but when I activate the checkbox "audio" which selects all the audio files and hit the "Download (browser)" button, then BulkMediaDownloader does not download the actual mp3 files. It only downloads some php files even if the audio files were recognized.
Furthermore, it does not download all the listed (and selected) elements, only some of them. Why?
Long time ago I used OrbitDownloader and FlashGot and they worked fine. But now... there's no extension which could do the thing and sadly they're out of date now.

REQUEST: Option "Stay on top" in popup window.

Can you please make an option "Stay on top" in popup window so that when clicking on the web pages I still be able to see Media Downloader popup window on top of the browser. I would also like to be able to integrate Internet Download Manager to Media Downloader popup window.

Request: Option to remember the last directory saved to.

I understand for most people it might make sense to always save things to a single fixed download directory. For me though, and I am sure many others, I prefer to save things directly to where I want them to be within my file system. For instance I may be watching a tutorial series and want to save all the videos to a single named sub-directory in my ~/video/tutorials directory. It is a bit tedious having to navigate to that custom folder every single time I want to save another video in the same series.

Because of this I would very much appreciate it if there were an option to choose between saving to a fixed download dir (the current default) or to remember the last dir used, much like how the built in downloader for Chrome/Chromium already works by default which would be my preference.

Extension doesn't(?) pass referrer to the downloads

Sometimes this leads to failed download or empty file (0 bytes).
I'm not 100% sure missing referrer is the reason why I'm unable to download some files, but I just tried this link in uGet and got 404. I copied page url as a referrer for this download and tried again, and everything worked. So I'm assuming that might be the reason. Not posting links here because it's nsfw content.

Referrer header can be passed with other headers: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/downloads/download#Parameters

Media files have the same filename, so BMD will download only 1 of them.

For example the following media files are recognized and listed:
filename1.mp3
filename1.mp3
filename1.mp3
...and so on...
They are all different mp3 files, but since they have the same filename on the list, BULKmediaDownloader will only download 1 media file, not all of them.
So how to set the downloading process to be able to download all the listed media files
by rename them automatically like:
filename1.mp3
filename2.mp3
filename3.mp3
?

How do I disable the "Download completed" sound?

Firefox > Add-Ons doesn't display a Preferences button for BMD. So, how do I silence it?

EDIT: Ah. Turns out it was the system-level Notifications feature in the macOS. I keep all notifications disabled, and Firefox isn't my default browser. Apparently BMD is the first Firefox add-on I've installed that decided to send a system-level notification—something I pretty much NEVER hear. So, I thought it was a BMD setting.

I still wish there were a way to disable sound within BMD's notifications. I don't mind seeing a banner, but wish the notification were silent. I know I can disable all sounds in Firefox notifications, but I'd prefer to avoid such a coarse solution—silencing everything. I'd prefer to silence only the apps whose sounds aren't needed.

Firefox browser stop the download because there is virus malware

Hello, i tried to donwload video from uqload paltform from this site, and i start download but Firefox browser shows me a warning that this download contains malware virus and Firefox blocks the download and firerox stops immediatly the video download :

https://french-anime.com/animes-vf/1262-level-1-dakedo-unique-skill-de-saikyou-desu.html

without blaming anyone, is bulk-media-downloader injecting a virus into our downloads or firefox messing up and it's a false positive? it's very worrying, it's the first time it's happened to me with a downloader and we need to be reassured please, it will be good if you send a request to the firefox addons team so that your extension is parsed by firefox and bulk-media-downloader get the trust badge, thanks

Please add URL / Email detection

Could you add a function to detect URLs/Links and Email adresses?

I'm already using Bulk Media Downloader to detect IMG-Links and to copy these links to my clipboard.
URLs and Email adresses aren't really related to downloading media but your tool is the only one on Firefox and Chrome that has the ability to record multiple sites.
There are so many other Addons that show me the URLs on only one specific site and it also forces me to click on a button while that site is in front. But that's a very annoying method if you visit many websites or say even websites that are only loaded in tabs without really having them open in front.
With the idea mentioned above your Addon would be the perfect URL and E-Mail grabber/scraper.

default window height on opening

when you open the extension clicking on its button you get a window where the main frame is completely shrinked and you always have to manually enlarge the popup window, can you make the frame auto adjustable upon discovering new sources or at least an higher default window upon opening?

audio cuts out after download

After downloading some audio files from a sound library site, the first few milliseconds get cut off, and sometimes the last few milliseconds. Please help!
