digsby's Issues

Add license file

It's hard to use something like this id you do not specify under which licence you will distribute your code

Convert dist/ to use distutils

Tons of stuff in dist/ are re-implementations of distutils commands, or could be turned into disutils commands. fix this!

note: distutils could mean setuptools, distribute, whatever. some sort of standard python deployment helper library.

Add Support for Microsoft's @Outlook.com Email login without IMAP/POP3

If anyone didn't notice, Microsoft now points to their latest email server: Outlook.com, a revamped replacement for Livemail/Hotmail.com.

Please add this to the list of support service and push a update soon. This would also enable the chat support for people who are using Microsoft's new @outlook.com email domain.
Currently, you can still use your old live/hotmail/msn credentials on Digsby, but can't use @outlook.com

Syncing support

Synced prefs and accounts have long been a feature of digsby, but now that the first-party implementation is being removed, there should be a plugin to re-enable this functionality using (a) third-party service(s).

Possibilities include Box.com, Dropbox.com, drive.google.com, and several others. At least one of these has a reasonable python interface, so adding support shouldn't be too difficult.

Better history search

Greetings guys,
Thanks for the great software. Good move here, I hope your development will go much faster with the community here.
IMHO the first thing you should think about in terms of the new features - better search, currently it's the worst thing I've ever seen in IMs :)

Thanks in advance!

Google Hangout and future of gTalk video chat

So now that Google has shutdown the gTalk messenger and requiring everyone to download Chrome for to use Google+ Hangouts (gTalk replacement), will Digsby remove support for Google chat+video service? Or is there a way to add support for this so called "Hangouts"?
I'm asking this cause Digsby doesn't support video chat now.

Remove server dependincy. Where is the code?

Hi guys,

I'd like to remove the server dependency from Digsby and allow the program to be used even if it cannot connect to the "Digsby server".

Can you tell me where is the code that connects to the server to authenticate and get the credentials for the other accounts?

That would help me a lot!

Thanks.

Facebook and facebook jabber bug

I have problem facebook IM where it double IM I send on the screen the same happing when use jabber for facebook.

and when is official update for digsby go to be out ?

Adium Emoticon and other Xtras Import

I usually recommend Digsby for my Windows brethren and unfortunately they are still left without being able to run the EmotiPonies, Panda Roll and other amazing and fun emoticons... Windows Digsby users are desperate for this, even if for ignorance of this existing are not requesting it! ๐Ÿ‘

Digsby web widget showing "connection failed" since few days ago

After it worked without any single problem for months, the web widget of digsby is suddenly showing "connection failed".

No, I din not change anything in my website.
Yes, I have tried it from different computers / internet providers.

It looks like it can not connect to its server?

Any help would be appreciated.

Issue running build_all.py. pathspec 'cairo' did not match any file(s) known to git.

I've finally gotten one of my machines to pass all of sanity.py, and am now trying to run "python digsby\build\msw\build_all.py". I've attached a screenshot of the error.
digsby_buildissue

Let me know if there's any other information I can provide that might help. I'd really like to start fixing some of the long standing issues to keep this project going, but have always gotten stuck at different parts of the build process. This is the farthest I've gotten so I'm feeling better about being able to start working on this project.

New Twitter API

Hi there,

it would be great if you could fix the twitter API call (digsby's my portable IM+socialNet client)

thanks!
S.

Edit: sorry didn't see Issue #26
Closing this one (duplicate)

Can't connect to Twitter again...

Have the twitter API updates from months ago. Asks me to authorize Twitter and enter my password. I did that and it says authentication failure. Anyone else?

Why does Tagged not care about this product? It's really the best IM client available. Such a shame that it's going to decay into nothing.

Make a gnuwin32 buildout recipe

As of this writing there are 3 libs that are from gnuwin32 that are all very similar and about 25 lines each, causing a lot of clutter in buildout.cfg. if we made a buildout recipe to contain the common functionality, it would be much clearer and easier to maintain.

Yahoo Mail Authentication Error

It seems that Yahoo email connections now always fail, regardless of IM Server or port. Has anyone seen what changed, recently, that might be responsible for this?

Connection issues

Anyone having issue sending or receiving IM's today? I can see users active on my contact list, however when I send a message they do not receive it nor do I get their messages. I've tested this with Gchat, AOL, Facebook and Yahoo, all with the same results.

Gmail notifications are not appearing for multiple users.

I have been having issues the last week with the gmail notifications being completely missing in digsby, but I thought it was a personal problem, however, checking the forums it does appear that several people are running into this issue.

The issue manifests as having no notifications, I looked at some of the code and it mentioned crawling the atom feed, so I checked that, and the atom feed definitely showed the new emails I had awaiting, but I didnt see the same url as I used in the associated code (https://mail.google.com/mail/feed/atom).

I also checked the digsby logs, and if you would like I could upload them somewhere, but they seem to indicate that digsby checks and finds no new mail, and that all things are ok.

If I could help repro or provide any information or help, I would be glad to pitch in, just let me know what you would like to know!
