howzat's Issues

Predict the Winner

The Fan Poll section which allows an user to cast their vote to one team in each fixture.
This section contains a sample poll structure which has an option to choose a team every fixture.
Make the the poll responsive and store the received responses in a database and use it to display the results at the page in form of a percentage bar.

Group Standings

When navigated to standings section of the page, a points table in this section contains 10 participating nations in alphabetic order. The task is to find a way to enable auto updation of the current standings after/during each fixture
Hint: Use API call or try Web Scrapping

Logo

The ICC WC 23 logo in the home page looks dull, make it better by designing a new logo using any ui/ux software.
Find the logo under the class “icclogo” in index.html.

request for font improvement

Issue Type: Enhancement

Description:

I believe that the current font choices on the Cricket World Cup 2023 website could be improved to enhance the overall visual appeal and readability. The existing fonts do not seem to align well with the aesthetics and theme of the website, and they might not provide the best user experience. To create a more visually appealing and user-friendly website, I propose that we explore the possibility of incorporating new fonts into the design.

Checklist:

  • I have searched for existing issues and confirmed that this is not a duplicate.
  • I have provided a clear and descriptive issue title.

User Authentication

Set up the website's Google authentication server using Oauth.
Create the login.html file and add the HTML code for authentication.
A login or account-creation option on the website should open a pop-up window to connect to the user's account.

Fan Poll Authentication

In the Fan Poll an user should be able to cast his/her vote only after logging into the website.
That is, the Fan Poll page should be a protected route

Find your way through

Currently the nav bar in home page is simple and it contains 3 sections: Standings, Fixtures, Fanpoll. Improvement in the navigation bar to make it more responsive. Find it in the header tag under the class “navbar” in the index.html file.

Squad Details

In the Home page in the list of participating nations when clicked on a country’s name/flag, it should lead to a page where it will contain squad details of the respective nation.

Update title on Standings page

In the browser, when viewing the Standings page, the title in the tab is displayed as Document.

I would propose changing this to read Standings instead, and can contribute the fix towards this.

Top Four

In the Standings tab add a new table that will have the same features as the existing table but it is for the top 4 qualifying nations.

World Cup fixtures

Find the fixtures page which currently contains a sample container to hold the fixture details.
Use the current styling or make it better. The main task is to display all 48 fixtures of this world cup.
The table 'Fixtures' stored in the database must contain details on each fixture and this must displayed in the relevant HTML page

Multiple Votes

Currently, there is no limit to the amount of votes that can be cast when a person logs into the website and selects a nation for each match. Make sure to limit a user's ability to vote to one nation per fixture and to one vote per user each fixture.

Footer Updation

The footer of the home page(index.html) is not complete. In the footer (Follow us on Social), links to social media of the official ICC WC 23' are to be present.
The links are already provided in index.html, the task is to get icons of respective social media and link them to the website.

Represent the nation

The participating nations’ flags are missing or replaced in the Home page, make sure to identify and correct it along with better styling including the group's alignment.
Find it under class “team” in index.html and for styling use style.css.
