bartender's Issues

Fix panics.

Some are caused by mustache, but others can be fixed in-house.

Implement a system for proper interaction with different bars

What currently lacks is the ability to output anything beyond a simple line-based protocol.
This, I am told, is especially annoying with i3bar, which uses JSON as a communication format. Thus, a generic output system should be created allowing to abstract the concrete details of the message encoding, such as colors and other things.

This should come together with a new config file format, such as TOML.

Synchronize the start of all timers

As mentioned on IRC:

doomnuggets | could there be an issue with the way you set the steadytime for each timer? > twk | in what sense?
doomnuggets | you assign the start time with ::now(), but shouldn't one single start time be shared (synchronized) for all timers?
twk | well, that timespan should be very short
doomnuggets | mkay
twk | but it warrants testing

Affected file: src/bartender.rs#L367

Do not open files as FIFO if they are regular files

Just don't open the file (so the default value stays in the buffer) and write an error to stderr.

Such a check is small, but vastly improves the user experience (poll always returns immediately, creating immense cpu load).

Sometimes, sync doesn't work with my own config

This is probably due to a lot of jobs running "in parallel", that is the amount of timers being bigger than when tested so far. This will probably need subsecond precision to be implemented.
