autocomplete-ruby's Issues

rsense path error

I get this error on my Mac:

autocomplete-ruby: exec error: Error: Command failed: ~/.gem/ruby/2.3.0/bin/rsense start --port 47367 --path /Users/maasha/scratch/simple-todos
/bin/sh: /Users/maasha/.gem/ruby/2.3.0/bin/rsense: No such file or directory

I installed rsense with gem install rsense and it is located here:

$ which rsense
/usr/local/bin/rsense

Unable to start rsense on osx yosemite

I have autocomplete-plus installed and autocomplete-ruby. I have installed rsense via Gemfile - I am using rvm and gemsets for the project.

Regardless of whether I start with specifiying the port and the project folder or not - the response is the same and the service does not respond to testing with curl - i.e. it is not started correctly and hence autocomplete-ruby cannot talk to the server.

Any ideas would be welcome - THANKS

The rsense start command produces this in the /tmp/rsense.log

Am i install's way not correct??? thank you very much !

Error starting rsense

Hi, I've installed rsense trought gem install rsense (and also installed the JDK). I've also changed the path in settings but when I start Atom (both from launcher or command line from the project dir), I'm receiving this error:

autocomplete-ruby: exec error: Error: Command failed: ~/.rbenv/shims/rsense start --port 47367 --path /Users/alessio/src/intercom
rbenv: rsense: command not found
The `rsense' command exists in these Ruby versions:
  2.3.3
(You might need to set the rsense path, see the readme)

Running on Mac 10.13.3 and latest version of Atom.

I've looked at the other closed issues but I wasn't able to solve the problem, any ideas? Thanks!

Atom is become really slow

Hi there,

I really like your plugin. It's really cool.

But when I enable it, I notice a lot of lag :/

Is it normal ?
How can I help to find the cause ?

Thanks,

Maxime

Rsense can not start on OSX

CPU Usage spiking with package enabled

I recently added this package on my MacbookPro, and noticed that it would spike my cpu usage every time I saved a file. This happened after starting Atom fresh, and editing and saving files both Ruby and other types. I verified it only happens when this particular package is enabled.

Watching my Activity Monitor, when I enable this package, it spawns a java process with low CPU usage. However, saving files kicks up the CPU usage for that process very quickly (> 400% in seconds) and it kept climbing to over 600% before I shut down Atom.

It may have something to do with rsense. I had received an rsense related error when first installing the package. I don't remember what steps I took to fix that error, but I believe it involved running gem install rsense in Terminal.

Error starting rsense

I've updated my gems; and i'm still getting this error.
Even after setting the rsense path (mine is /Users/robjac/.rbenv/shims/rsense

Using rbenv 1.1.0

I've never had this working before. I've been relying on the core implementation. autocomplete-plus

Error when running 'rsense start'

I followed the instructions to install this properly. When I run rsense start from my project's directory, I get this error:

/Library/Ruby/Gems/2.0.0/gems/ffi-1.9.10/lib/ffi/library.rb:133:in `block in ffi_lib': Could not open library 'libc.dylib': dlopen(libc.dylib, 5): image not found (LoadError)

Gem::ConflictError: jruby-jars-9.1.14.0 conflicts with jruby-jars (~> 1.7.4)

Is there a known fix for this error when using Atom autocomplete-ruby? I tried uninstalling one or both jruby-jars gems and re-installing rsense, but it hasn't made a difference. The two jruby-jar names that rsense says conflict are both installed by rsense itself. In the autocomplete-ruby Atom settings, I tried both /usr/local/bin/rsense and /Users/me/.rvm/rubies/ruby-2.4.2/bin/ruby paths.

Unable to start Rsense from Atom

(You might need to set the rsense path, see the readme)

This is my current Rsense Pathway: C:/RailsInstaller/Ruby2.3.0/bin/rsense which is the default pathway. It was checked and rsense executable is there, just non-responsive...

Compatibility issue using custom path

Hi,

I've an error when I start my Atom using your tool.
I use rvm to manage my Ruby versions and I running on OSX.

Extract of the errors:

autocomplete-ruby: exec error: Error: Command failed: /Users/my_user/.rvm/gems/ruby-2.3.0/bin/rsense start --port 47367 --path /Users/my_user/GitHub/w3st3ry.github.io
env: ruby_executable_hooks: No such file or directory

But everything is working if I just run this command out from Atom, in my shell.

I think it's because I need to add a custom path to find my Gem. Can you fix it in Settings with a new entry?

Thanks in advance.

fails on M1 Macbooks

Hi, I know this may now be unsupported, but just in case, an RSense install fine on M1 macs, but, when the package loads in Atom, it fails because it's expecting x86 architecture and RSense is, of course, reporting that it's arm64 instead.

can't find gem rsense

Using Atom v1.26.0 x64. OS X 10.11.6. Ruby 2.5.0 w/ RVM.
Not sure this is a problem with rsense per se, but maybe??

autocomplete-ruby: exec error: Error: Command failed: /Users/dude/.rvm/gems/ruby-2.5.0/bin/rsense start --port 47367 --path .
/Users/dude/.rvm/rubies/ruby-2.5.0/lib/ruby/2.5.0/rubygems.rb:289:in `find_spec_for_exe': can't find gem rsense (>= 0.a) with executable rsense (Gem::GemNotFoundException)

	from /Users/dude/.rvm/gems/ruby-2.5.0/bin/ruby_executable_hooks:15:in `<main>'

Error starting rsense

When the atom is started, it appears:
autocomplete-ruby: exec error: Error: Command failed: /Users/v/.rvm/gems/ruby-2.3.3/bin/rsense start --port 47367 --path /Users/v/Downloads/ApiServer
env: ruby_executable_hooks: No such file or directory
(You might need to set the rsense path, see the readme)

But the above command can be excuted in CMD.

Error origin

Hi,

I recently often encountered the error (displayed as a notification) that's generated here.
I had to search the internet to find out that this is related to this atom package.

I think it would be nice to make it easier to find the package related to an error.
Therefore I thought about creating a PR but wanted to check for the best solution first.
Two simple solutions I can think of are:

  • Prepend the package name to the error message.
  • In addition to the notification use console.error to display the error on the web console.

Which one to you prefer? Or do you have a better/different solution?

Rsense not starting

Compatibility issues with Windows

This package does not appear to be able to run on Windows 10 system. Specifically, it's having trouble looking for the home directory as '~' doesn't exist in Windows.

autocomplete-ruby: exec error: Error: Command failed: ~/.gem/ruby/2.3.0/bin/rsense stop
'~' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

This can be reproduced by simply typing code.

I'm aware that it's all still pre-alpha, but I just wanted to bring this issue to attention.

Autocomplete not working (rsense throwing net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED errors)

As I type code in my editor, no autocompletion happens and errors like these show up in the console:

screen shot 2017-07-20 at 4 46 23 pm

which rsense gives the same path that is being used in the config for autocomplete-ruby: /Users/squadri/.rvm/gems/ruby-2.4.1/bin/rsense

My Ruby version: ruby 2.4.1p111 (2017-03-22 revision 58053) [x86_64-darwin16]
