See Wiki for details about the setup for development. A Maven-Site is also available.

Please take in consideration backport to older version of OC and a compatibility layer with nextcloud as new enhancements.

Contribute coding using interface of github

Submitting improved code fixes and enhancements is easy:

  1. Log in to GitHub

  2. Fork the Repository

  1. Edit files within your fork. This can be done directly on GitHub.com at http://github.com/{your-username}/owncloud

  2. Submit a Pull Request (tell in a issue/pull explicit details about your changes)

  • Click "Pull Prequest"
  • Enter a Message details that will go with your commit to be reviewed by others
  • Click “Send Pull Request”

Multiple Pull Requests and Edits

When submitting pull requests, it is extremely helpful to isolate the changes you want included from other unrelated changes you may have made to your fork of plugin repository. The easiest way to accomplish this is to use a different branch for each pull request. The github interface when submit the pull request will ask for that. There are a number of ways to create branches within your fork, but GitHub makes the process very easy:

  1. Start by finding the file you want to edit in Typesetter's code repository at https://github.com/hypery2k/owncloud.
  2. Once you have located the file, navigate to the code view and click "Edit". For example, if you want to change the xxxx.php file, the "Edit" button would appear on this page: https://github.com/hypery2k/owncloud/blob/master/xxxx.php
  3. Now, edit the file as you like then click "Propose File Change"

NOTE here we use the "xxx" file as example, but this not exist in the plugin repository

owncloud's Issues

Login with OwnCloud Credentials

In some installations(i.e. using the LDAP backend) usernames/passwords are already identical to roundcube login. The ability to force these credential for users would be welcomed.

Error in session managemen

Yep here it also works, thank you.

However I still get a warning message ik the frame where RC starts:

Notice: Undefined index: roundcube_sessauth in /opt/www/owncloud/apps/roundcube/lib/RoundcubeLogin.class.php on line 270
Notice: Undefined index: roundcube_sessauth in /opt/www/owncloud/apps/roundcube/lib/RoundcubeLogin.class.php on line 334 Notice: Undefined index: roundcube_sessauth in /opt/www/owncloud/apps/roundcube/lib/RoundcubeLogin.class.php on line 334 ```

This then corrupts the layout a bit.

The Personal page also throws an error:

Notice: Undefined variable: params in /opt/www/owncloud/apps/roundcube/userSettings.php on line 12
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /opt/www/owncloud/apps/roundcube/userSettings.php on line 12

I don't know if this has any relation to HTTPS. If not, I'll create a new bug report for it.

roundcube on separate server

I have roundcube and owncloud on different mashines. Can we make this app work with a roundcube that it is not on the relative path?

Apache loop

Hi, I love your roundcube app for Owncloud. I'm running a server with
several instances of OC, and it works great! However, on one instance,
I'm getting a lot of errors whenever I try to use it. It is on the
same server, and the config is the same, so I don't know why it doesn't
work on this instance. The only real difference is that other instances
are . and this one is /.
I did move this instance so that it followed the other format, but I was
still unsuccessful.

This is the error I get in the logs:
[Tue Oct 02 16:05:06 2012] [error] [client 173.10.10.73] PHP Warning:
feof() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in
/var/www/netsol/apps/roundcube/lib/RoundcubeLogin.class.php on line 413,
referer: https://cloud.internetpro.net/netsol/?app=files

It seems to cause a loop because apache starts taking up 100% of the CPU
and the error log grows at an alarming rate with repeats of the above entry.

Database tables are not being created

I have owncloud version 4.04 installed and I want to use the newest version of the roundcube plugin from this repository.
After installing the plugin and setting it up in the general settings, I can't access the personal settings or the webmail app anymore.
Instead this error message is shown:

DB Error: "SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: 1 no such table: oc_roundcube"

Add 'Authors' file to the plugin

Apparently this plugin is forked from the 'mail' plugin by David Jaedke
but his name have disappear from the actual 'install' file.

The AGPL license sure allow to modify/fork a project but say than :
"The work must carry prominent notices stating that you modified it, and giving a relevant date"

It will be just fair to just keep his name as the original contributor somewhere...

Continous Integration

The Development of the own cloud apps should use an continuous integration environment

top navigation, autologon

I installed the roundcube app and it works fine. there some short problems with the navigation like settings for roundcube, this menue isnt displayed, next is the autologin.
In owncloud-setting there is an option to disable this setting-bar for Roundcube, but it seems not working.

Mixed Connection Mode (HTTP & HTTPS)

When using mixed mode for connection (OC with http and roundcube with https) there are some issues:

Click on Personal settings and the following error appears:

Notice: Undefined variable: params in /home/petma/public_html/brid.coop/archive/apps/roundcube/userSettings.php on line 12

If you then click on webmail in the app menue the page never stops loading...

instead of the classic markup:

<?php echo $value; ?>

If You don't run Your OC instance on a root server, chances are good that Your host has disabled short_open_tags. As there are only two appearances of this shorthand I would recommend changing them to the classic markup - even if PHP5.4 will exclude this shorthand from being disabled by short_open_tag = off (see here).

Undefined index: HTTPS in RoundCubeLogin.class.php

I installed roundcube plugin to 4.0.5 version of ownCloud and 0.7.2 version of RoundCube but I cannot get it working.

I successfully enabled plugin and I added correct addresses to the admin screen and username/password to the user screen but when I go to the Webmail tab in ownCloud I'm getting the following error:

Notice: Undefined index: HTTPS in /home/petma/public_html/brid.coop/archive/apps/roundcube/lib/RoundcubeLogin.class.php on line 322
ERROR: Technical problem, Unable to determine the login status. Unable to continue due to technical problems.Array ( )
Notice: Undefined variable: data in /home/petma/public_html/brid.coop/archive/apps/roundcube/lib/RoundcubeLogin.class.php on line 434

BTW. my Roundcube installation is not using https but just ordinary http.

I'm also getting the following warnings in the ownCloud user screen:
