The untested casting code in the readme will not work, as the bytes are not ascii encoded but rather byte values in string form.

An implementation of the cast tested on the Pyboard is int.from_bytes(machine.unique_id(), 'little') - to test on an ESP port

In the readme the stated chance of collision is <0.1% chance. While this is true for any two devices, if you had a network of 10 devices the chance of a collision is roughly 0.18%, and you just know that somebody is going to call me out on this unless I rectify it.
