RetroPieAmigaSetup

This is a simple script to set-up base folders and files on RetroPie for Amiga WHDload gaming, including downloading the WHDLoad Booter and some example games.

This is part of the Amiga WHDLoad for RetroPie project hosted here: ****

Installation / Setup:

From Linux Command Line or via SSH, use the following:

cd ~/RetroPie/retropiemenu/
rm "Auto-Amiga Install.sh"
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HoraceAndTheSpider/RetroPieAmigaSetup/master/Auto-Amiga%20Install.sh
chmod +x "Auto-Amiga Install.sh"

Un-install / Removal:

To remove the script, use the following

rm "~/RetroPie/retropiemenu/Auto-Amiga Install.sh"

Running:

Once installed, simply go to the RetroPie menu, where you will find the option Auto-Amiga Install, simply click to run!

You will need to restart RetroPie for the installation to complete, and it is recommended you use this with the Amiberry emulator, which is available in the optional packages in the RetroPie setup.

If you insist on running directly from command line you must use:

cd ~/RetroPie/
./"retropiemenu/Auto-Amiga Install.sh"

Setting up Amiberry to run lha files

Good Evening,
Following the set up guide by ETA prime who is very helpful in his YouTube videos. I tried several times to run this on retropie Raspberry pi400 it seems to pick up AGA files .
A couple of years ago I purchased Amigaforever v7 which had the kickstart roms that I obviously required as you can not download them for free. The Amiga along with the spectrum were my favourite consoles back in the day and the raspberry pi allows you to do it.

Sorry for sounding a little out of my depth but I believe I have the right tools just not used in the right order..

Many thanks

Steve

WHDLoad_Booter.zip is missing

        # perform the download.
        data_source = "http://www.ultimateamiga.co.uk/HostedProjects/RetroPieAmiga/downloads/"
        data_file = "WHDLoad_Booter.zip"
        download_file(data_source + data_file,roms_folder + "amiga-data/WHDLoad_Booter.zip")

This file is no longer present at the above URL, hence the entire install/script fails. I was unable to find another copy of WHDLoad_Booter.zip anywhere.

It could also be a permission issue....

BIOS removed

Looks like the BIOS files have all been moved from the source

Files won't download

Hi there! Thanks for this awesome tool! I tried to install whdload via your script. When I tried to install it from the retropie menu, though, it did not work. The script:
cd ~/RetroPie/retropiemenu/
rm "Auto-Amiga Install.sh"
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/HoraceAndTheSpider/RetroPieAmigaSetup/master/Auto-Amiga%20Install.sh
chmod +x "Auto-Amiga Install.sh"

correctly addedd the install option in the retropie menu, but when I tried to install the actual package from the menu, every file it tried to download/install was "not found". What could it be? I will try the manual installation in case
thanks!
