This is an mp3 of a recording I took with my phone. I am trying to play 12war.mod (12th Warrior - Dr. Awesome)
I have tried multiple mods, different formats. My machine is n M1 Max. I tried this on my wife's machine (a MacBook Air (so regular M1 I believe)) and playback was normal.
I have tried rebooting as well as removing .mikmodrc all to no avail.

Well I guess I figured out the root cause ? This only happens when using my Studio Display monitor as audio output. If I play on the built in speakers playback is normal 🤷
So I would say this seems like more of an Apple monitor firmware issue perhaps than a Brew bug... Sorry for the noise.
