I really like the worm simulator, but I'm worried about the potential ethical impact of closing the browser tab. Does it kill the worm or will the worm be okay?
Somewhat related, a feature to save the state of your worm might be nice so that you can transfer the worm between computers, or restore your worm to an earlier point if you're disappointed with it
Hi.
When looking at connectome.js
I saw four lines starting at 260:
/* Use these to stimulate nose and food sensing neurons */
BRAIN.stimulateHungerNeurons = true;
BRAIN.stimulateNoseTouchNeurons = false;
BRAIN.stimulateFoodSenseNeurons = false;
Is the worm actually in an endless state of hunger because BRAIN.stimulateHungerNeurons
is set to true
? How does it know when it collides with the edges of the window if BRAIN.stimulateNoseTouchNeurons
is set to false
? Does BRAIN.stimulateFoodSenseNeurons
simulate the nematode being "full"?
How exactly does the javascript code work?
Thanks.
I'm placing food directly in front of the worm, and it's just avoiding it entirely? it feels like their movements are just completely random
like the line tool in ms paint, u could make a worm maze :) basically just the edges of the page but reused for user generated walls
