Can we have the bash script cross platform?

ffmpeg -f alsa -ac 1 -i hw:3 -f ogg - \
    | ssh <user>@<remotehost> mplayer - -idle -demuxer ogg

There's a way to pipe from arecord as well and I know this one uses ogg and not opus.

My recording gig (i.e. my Audio Technica mic) is on a Windows computer. So if we could make the bash script cross-platform that would be great, that's why maybe ffmpeg could be an option. That being said, not sure if alsa is a valid input channel on Windows, I'll test that later today.

The mplayer would be the process responsible for setting up the session audio and track. Did you thought what this would be, will it be a bash script as well using some program or a custom binary doing this?
